    Crystal Palace have a corner.

Indiah-Paige Riley plays it short and Lily Woodham swings it into the box.

There are a few passes exchanged and Mille Gejl tries to get a shot away but it is cleared.

I don't think that Liverpool capitalised on the potential chances that they had, there were various set pieces, balls that could have gone into the box from free kicks.

They were good at hustling and harrying Chelsea and winning the ball high up the pitch in dangerous areas but they never really tested Chelsea's defensive capacity.

Liverpool boss Matt Beard speaking to BBC Two: "There are positives to take but obviously we have to cut out the little errors that led to their goals. Second half we posed a lot of threat, pressed them well and caused them problems. We started the game brightly as well.

"The biggest thing is that you don't get many chances against the top, top sides and you need to get your shots off. Smithy and Kiernan twice had chances in the first half where they tried to cut inside when they could have hit it earlier.

"Chelsea are a top, top side, and if you give them opportunities like we did today then you are going to get punished."

On the third goal: "I think with what the girls put into the second half the third goal is harsh on us. For the effort we put in. Gemma needs to keep Ramirez out wide but she doesn't and then it ends up with a tap in from the edge of the box. That was frustrating.Looking a goal one and goal three they are scrappy ones for us to concede."

On set pieces: "You score one in 18, that is the league average for free kicks going into the box, so we wanted to try something different. It is just making the right decisions in those situations. The data and the numbers back up not sticking it in the box. We need to get the free kicks right."

On Olivia Smith: "She is fantastic. She is going to be one of the best, that's for sure. She's got everything. She needs to relax a bit, she can lose her temper quite quickly at times, but she is a top talent. She has caused a lot of teams a lot of problems."

It is so difficult to compete with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Ultimately you need the backing from the club and funding. If it's not there then the gap extends.

    Chelsea

Chelsea defender Millie Bright speaking to BBC Two after their 3-0 win at Liverpool: "It's massive. When you come to a stadium and you don't get that win over the years it's in the back of your mind. It eats away at you. But our mentality is to win every single game.

"A good performance and a good win.

"We're just loving being out on the pitch, we've got a great confidence. We've been more confident in possession, being brave. You can see that from the girls' performance.

"The amount of changes that we've had in our environment has been a lot. But the transition has been seamless. It shows the people we have, the culture we have created. Everyone is just thriving in this environment."

Chelsea did have to be expansive, hit the lines, so they could find the gaps through the Liverpool defence. They are used to playing up against teams that try to shut them out.

It is part mentality and part tactical set up, but they will be very, very happy.

They have not been at their best, not made lots and lots of chances but they come away with a convincing win and three more points.

It's the depth that Chelsea have. Similar to the men they have two starting XIs they can play in different competitions. They need that to compete on all fronts.

They can rotate before Celtic in the Champions League and rotate again for a difficult match against Manchester City next week.

The rain is pouring down in St Helens, but the Chelsea team are all smiles as they do their post-match team talk.

Another clean sheet, Chelsea have shown their dominance.

We've seen a team who can adapt. They were patient, they waited for their goal. They knew Liverpool would come out in the second half and they made changes which made a difference.

We thought that there might be an upset today given the last few games between these sides but Chelsea were very professional and secured the win.

Once the first goal went in it looked tough for Liverpool, who never really looked like scoring. Chelsea keep the momentum going, they go from strength to strength and it's six wins from six for Sonia Bompastor.

A really impressive result for Chelsea. They have struggled against Liverpool in the past so a 3-0 win, a clean sheet and an extension of their unbeaten start to the season under Sonia Bompastor will have pleased the 600 fans who travelled up from London early this morning.
