Liverpool have to go for it now and that means Taylor Hinds will be looking to get forward a little more. That will though leave plenty of room for Johanna Rytting Kaneryd to get forward down the Chelsea right.

Former England midfielder on BBC Two

I thought Liverpool were very good and effective for the opening 30 minutes and made it frustrating for Chelsea to play up against. And then they made a mistake defensively in their shape and Chelsea exploited it for the first goal.

A huge mistake from Rachael Laws to give up the second goal so a disappointing end to the half.

You need those concentration levels, you need players to be disciplined within their shape. Liverpool will be very disappointed with the two goals they have conceded and you saw Matt Beard's reaction on the touchline when those goals went in the back of the net.

I spoke to Matt Beard in the summer and I was asking what Liverpool are going to look like coming into this season.

He spoke about this gem he had for this season [Olivia Smith] and she certainly is that, and she's a very exciting player to watch.

Everton boss Brian Sorensen spoke ahead of his side's match against Crystal Palace about their disappointing start to the season: “There are no easy games. We have to be at our best. We will have to do that on Sunday, that is for sure.

"Even if we do not get a result against Palace, if it is a draw - the league isn’t going to run away from us," he continued. "I do not focus on the table, I focus on getting my players ready and maximising everything we do in the game.

“Judge us when we are 15/16 games into the season. We have three winnable games coming up. We have played three of the national ‘big four’."

Crystal Palace boss Laura Kaminski is feeling confident ahead of facing Everton: "We’re in a good place overall. We haven’t had any fresh injuries this week, which is rare and definitely a positive. It’s allowed us to really focus and put in some strong preparation.

"The team has been resilient, embracing these milestones as opportunities for growth.

"As we move into Sunday, we’re happy with the progress.”

For the second goal Rachel Laws has to get rid of it. You cannot afford to play a straight pass across your own box. Just go long, clear it.

Liverpool were competitive and looked threatening going forward, particularly with Olivia Smith. But as the game wore on Chelsea continued to be patient and broke them down.

To go in two goals at half time, particularly with the mistake from Rachel Laws, is a tough one to take and Matt Beard has a lot of thinking to do.

  20. Postpublished at 13:24 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November

    HT: Liverpool 0-2 Chelsea

Liverpool started so brightly in that first half and they looked solid as Chelsea started to pile the pressure on with attack after attack.

But the Blues finally got the breakthrough and a bad mistake from Rachael Laws gifted the visitors a second.

It's a long way back for Liverpool now, but don't forget they fought back last season and grabbed the win in injury time.
