Lenell John-Lewis scored twice to inspire Boston to a 3-2 win at 10-man Aldershot in the National League.

Boston, playing their first game of the campaign after their scheduled opener against crisis club Morecambe was postponed, went in front in the 10th minute when summer signing John-Lewis headed home Jordan Cropper's right-wing cross.

Aldershot, who lost their opening game to Altrincham, suffered another setback when Theo Widdrington was sent off in the 27th minute for a crunching challenge on Greg Sloggett.

John-Lewis struck again in the 53rd minute after being sent clear by Dylan Hill, but Aldershot pulled one back almost immediately through Hady Ghandour.

Sloggett made it 3-1 in the 77th minute as his shot from long range deflected in off James Clarridge.

Tristan Abrahams pulled another one back for the hosts in the 89th minute, but despite heavy late pressure they could not find an unlikely equaliser.
