Maria McAneny scored Celtic's only goal of the game, direct from a free-kick

Maria McAneny's goal secured three points for Celtic as they beat Motherwell 1-0 at K Park.

The result leaves Celtic still trailing the top three with five games remaining in the SWPL season.

The visitors spurned numerous chances to take the lead in the first half and found the second half equally as difficult in front of goal.

McAneny broke the deadlock on the 64th minute when she scored straight from a Celtic free-kick just outside the Motherwell box.

Elena Sadiku's side had numerous opportunities to double their lead but again weren't clinical enough and Motherwell defended well throughout.
