Jack Clarke scored a dramatic stoppage-time penalty to earn Ipswich Town a 2-2 draw against Derby County.

Clarke struck in the 16th minute of time added on to deny Derby a first Championship win of the season.

The Rams had staged a fightback of their own to lead 2-1 after Carlton Morris' penalty and Rhian Brewster's strike in the second half had overturned Jacob Greaves' first-half opener for Ipswich.

The result means both sides head into the international break winless after their first four league games this season.

Ipswich deservedly edged ahead in the 33rd minute having looked increasingly threatening as the first half wore on.

Derby goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom misjudged Ashley Young's inswinging corner allowing Greaves to head the opening goal into an unguarded net.

Young, Jaden Philogene and Dara O'Shea, who headed Leif Davis's corner against the post, all then went close as Ipswich pushed for a second goal before half-time.

But three minutes into the second half they were pegged back when Morris continued his record of scoring in every Derby league game this season, converting a penalty after Davis blocked Brewster's effort with his hand.

Ipswich were soon appealing for a penalty themselves following Matt Clarke's challenge on George Hirst but, instead, the Tractor Boys striker was booked for diving.

Derby completed the turnaround in the 70th minute when Brewster latched on to a loose ball, burst through Ipswich's defence and slid his first goal for the club into the far corner.

But, just when they seemed set to survive a lengthy period of stoppage time, Derby substitute David Ozoh was penalised for a foul in the box on Sammie Szmodics, giving Clarke the chance to salvage a point for Ipswich.

'That's a world record amount of added time' - reaction

Derby head coach John Eustace told BBC Radio Derby: "Really, really disappointed to concede [the equaliser]. I think that's a world record amount of time ever added to any game. I've never seen that amount of minutes before.

"The lads battled, worked their socks off and we deserved the three points. What an effort that was from a group of players who are going to grow throughout the season.

"I think there some really good signs for where we want to get to and I was really proud of the effort.

"You can see everyone is gathering speed, getting fit. The club have been brilliant with the signings we've made. There is lots to be happy with moving forward."

Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna told BBC Radio Suffolk: "Hopefully it'll be a big moment for us at the end. The group has been through a lot and the club has been through a lot over the summer

"It's been a challenging summer so it's a nice moment to go into the international break - a big thing for us to get a late goal here.

"I think the performances have been getting better every week as players have been getting up to speed and integrated.

"It's really frustrating - we know we need to win sooner rather than later but you can't wish yourself there, it's only about learning lessons that you get there."
