Gateshead got back to winning ways with their first victory since August, defeating Steve Pitt's Braintree side 2-1.

It took only three minutes for Gateshead to get the opener as Ben Williams picked out Kain Adom with a diagonal ball for the forward to smash home at the back post.

Kyle Hurst doubled his side's lead with a brilliant strike in the 17th minute which saw Alun Armstrong's side go into the break two goals ahead.

In the 61st minute, Braintree got back into it after Terrell Works slotted past Tiernan Brooks and late on in added time, the home fans were adamant the ball had crossed the line to make it 2-2 however nothing was given seeing Gateshead came out on top.
