The Grimsby back line just back off and back off and Mbeumo just picks out the bottom right hand corner with his left foot. It's a wonderful finish. Grimsby have some hanging on to do now.

  7. CLOSE!published at 21:34 British Summer Time 27 August

    Everton 1-0 Mansfield

That could've been game over as Vitalii Mykolenko hangs up a beauty of a cross. Beto is above everyone but nods the wrong side of the post.

Another Bristol City corner that Adama Traore smashes clear high into the stand.

  9. goal

GOAL - Grimsby 2-1 Man Utdpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 27 August

    Bryan Mbeumo (75 mins)

Manchester United are back in it!

Bryan Mbeumo gets it with his first for the club as he is picked out on the right side of the box, comes forward before placing a shot into the bottom corner.

  13. 'Gardner just offside'published at 21:31 British Summer Time 27 August

    Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Blundell Park

The flag did go up early but on his left foot Gardner fed it into the far corner. He was just in an offside position when the ball was slid through but it came off a Manchester United player though didn't it?

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 27 August

    Fulham 2-0 Bristol City

A final Fulham change with Emile Smith Rowe being replaced by Sasa Lukic.

Smith Rowe still yet to complete 90 minutes in a Fulham shirt.

This United team is so disjointed. They don't run for each other. They don't give each other options. They don't double up closing down. It feels like every individual on the ball is expected to pace out a bit, show individual strength, then just a long-ish ball to the next individual doing the same thing. They do not cohere in the slightest.

    Grimsby Town 2-0 Man Utd

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live at Blundell Park

Gardner has been a good focal point for Grimsby. They are still really being positive in their approach to this game.

  17. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:30 British Summer Time 27 August

    Grimsby 2-0 Man Utd

    Oooh that looks tight.

A pass bounces kindly off Harry Maguire for Cameron Gardner, who tucks a shot into the back of the net, but the flag is up for offside.

Replays suggest it was very close.

  18. goal

GOAL - Oxford 0-6 Brightonpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 27 August

    Tom Watson

Another fantastic finish for a Brighton debutant.

Substitute Tom Watson curls a finish into the far corner and the Seagulls have six.

  19. Postpublished at 21:29 British Summer Time 27 August

    Everton 1-0 Mansfield

The ball breaks for Beto on the edge of the box and he has the chance to put the game to bed but his strike is far from convincing and Liam Roberts gathers.
