  1. 'We're very realistic'published at 19:05 British Summer Time 27 August

    Everton v Mansfield (19:45 BST)

Premier League Sunderland and Leeds have already been dumped out by lower league opposition as Mansfield look to do the same to Everton, but manager Nigel Clough wants to be "realistic".

"There's a belief we can put on a performance the way we've been playing recently and see where that takes us," Clough told BBC Radio Nottingham.

"But we're very realistic about it. We know Everton's reserves would beat us nine times out of 10.

"I don't know what sort of team Everton are going to play. I've no idea whether it's going to be strong, or a mix, or whatever, but then again they don't know what we're going to play either. Not that they will be too worried!

"Nobody expects us to get anything at all."

Grimsby Town chair Andrew Pettit speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast Sport: "We are really ambitious for the club. We are trying to build it from the basics, getting the culture right. 15 years ago we were playing the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford in League Two, so one it shows the importance of the football pyramid and the opportunities offered, and two for a club like Grimsby if we get everything right."

On how big nights like this are when facing clubs like Manchester United: "It is obviously a financial boost for the club, something we wouldn't have budgeted for, a so-called 'football fortune'. And clearly playing it at Blundell Park with our limited capacity which we probably could have sold out three times over, does come straight in as a financial benefit. But for me it is more about the occasion for the fans and making memories for them, and to learn as a team and as a club from one of the best clubs in the world."

I don't think it is by accident Manchester United have put their team news on an X post with a massive picture of Kobbie Mainoo as the backdrop.

United know Mainoo is hugely popular. Any decision for him to leave would attract criticism from the club's supporters.

But the dilemma is clear. Mainoo has been picked in the Bruno Fernandes role tonight.

If he is to get his place back, he has either got to oust the captain or persuade Ruben Amorim he can do another job.

What a fabulous evening here at Blundell Park.

It is quite warm, which is a rarity given the sea is over the back of the houses to the right of the floodlight pylon in the picture.

You can smell the fish and chips.

I am pretty sure Ruben Amorim and his players won't be having any, either before or after the match.

But will they be leaving with the bitter taste of defeat? (See what I did there...)
