  1. 'We want to be the one who gets over the line'published at 18:42 Greenwich Mean Time 18 December

    Newcastle v Brentford (19:45 GMT)

Newcastle have not won a proper trophy since the 1968–69 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

They are two games away from the Carabao Cup final.

"The willingness has been there from other [Newcastle] teams [of the past], but we want to be the one who gets over the line and to achieve something special," said boss Eddie Howe.

"But winning these competitions is difficult, we won't take anything for granted. We know if we can hit correct levels of performance then we can be a match for anyone.

"The importance of this game is not lost on any of us. I made it very clear when I came to Newcastle that it's what I wanted to achieve. These games take huge importance when you get towards the latter stages."
