It was a big night for Eddie Howe to get them through.
FT: West Ham 1-0 Bournemouth
West Ham United
West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "I was trying to be in the right place and I always get a stroke of luck, I will take the goal and into the next round.
"Important for players to play from the start and have a feel of the fans and the way we want to play.
"When you play three games in a week it's important you win those games and it stands us in good stead for a tough tie against Man City at the weekend."
On facing Man City: "We will not shy away from it. We are in a good moment and a good place. We are at home and we can use the atmosphere to our advantage, we are going in with confidence."

This year West Ham have got to get into the latter stages of these rounds especially with not being in Europe this year.
This is a great opportunity to get into Europa League by winning this.

Newcastle's Sean Longstaff, speaking to Sky Sports: "Massive result for us and hopefully one that kickstarts our season.

On going far in cup: "It is massive. There's no European football this year so the cup competitions will play a massive part in our season. We want to go as far as we can."
On Tonali's return: "It is massive. He is a massive player for us, not just on the pitch but in the dressing room as well. It is massive to have him back and you could see the quality he has."
On who he wants in next round: "A home tie would not go amiss! Fingers crossed."

As every single Newcastle cup tie was away from home last year (except City at home!) can we have Barrow at home next round please.

A tough night for Newcastle, but they have come through which is the main thing.
They will look for a home draw, and the reception the fans gave Sandro Tonali was fantastic.
FT: AFC Wimbledon 2-2 Ipswich (4-2 pens)
AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "The underdog story in football.
"It's another amazing night in another chapter in that story.
"We always have to do it the hard way as a football club, but we find a way.
"It was a terrible start. We spoke about not giving them anything soft, if they pick you off or score a worldie - you live with that. We didn't want to give a soft one away which is exactly what we have done.
"It could have ended up being an easy night for Ipswich if we folded."
On who he wants in the next round: "I wouldn't mind the Gunners away."

Jake Reeves, AFC Wimbledon Captain. Class act, I had him in my district team back in the day. I am biased, but how he's not played in the Championship is beyond me. Well done to everyone at AFC Wimbledon, hope they get a good draw.

The seven English clubs involved in European competitions this season, including holders Liverpool, enter at the third-round stage.
Ties will take place on weeks commencing 16 and 23 September.
Because there are rounds of Champions League and Europa League fixtures also scheduled for those two midweeks, the six clubs involved in those competitions - Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Tottenham and Manchester United - will be kept apart to ensure they can fulfil their Carabao Cup tie in the alternate midweek to their European fixture.
Those six clubs took part in a pre-draw before Forest v Newcastle to decide if they will be at home or away in the third round, with a main draw determining the 16 ties.
Should Chelsea progress to the next phase of the Conference League, they will not be in action in that competition again until the start of October.
We'll have the third round draw up next so stick around to find out who Newcastle are facing next.
If you're a Nottingham Forest fan, don't feel like you need to...
