No real defensive concerns for Brentford at the moment. It's all just very flat from both teams.

Despairing Saints fan here. We've lost two tight games in the Premier League 1-0 - when we need a goal we can't score. When we score for fun we can't keep a Championship side out to save our lives! Maybe, Russell Martin can pair this attack with our PL defence and we might be okay? Good to see new signings Archer and Fernandes on the score sheet though.

    West Ham 0-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth have a free-kick in a very decent position, 20 yards or so from goal and pretty central. Dango Ouattara is over it and sends the ball over the wall, but it continues sailing high over the bar.

Changes also taking place in Cardiff.

Rubin Colwill has been heavily involved and scored a brilliant first-half goal. He also picked up a booking and perhaps that's why he's being replaced.

Among those to come on for Southampton is Adam Lallana.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 28 August

    Colchester 0-1 Brentford

Harry Anderson is replaced by Owura Edwards and he's not happy about it. Colchester manager Danny Cowley tries to shake his hand and Anderson does so, but reluctantly.

  15. Postpublished at 21:08 British Summer Time 28 August

    AFC Wimbledon 2-1 Ipswich

Ipswich are given a free kick in a great position just outside the box and it's Conor Townsend to take.

The left-back strikes a pretty terrible effort high and wide. The Wimbledon fans loved that one.

    Make that six goals!

Cardiff have levelled for a third time.

Rubin Colwill's deep cross is headed by Raheem Conte into the path of Alex Robertson who volleys home his first goal for Cardiff.

An absolute thriller of a cup tie here in south Wales.

Another equaliser! And another brilliant finish.

Cardiff City immediately equalise, going down the other end while the Southampton fans are still celebrating.

It's pure power from Alex Robertson as he hits it early in the box and fires it past the goalkeeper first time.
