Imogen Longcake's arrival turned the game for Thistle

Partick Thistle overcame gusty conditions and gutsy defending from Queen's Park to take a 2-0 win at Petershill Park.

Heavy winds, stubborn opposition and even a pitch invasion from a spectator's pet dog left Thistle waiting until the hour mark to open the scoring.

Second-half substitutes Imogen Longcake and Caley Gibb combined well, playing a neat one-two to send Gibb clean through to slot home past Spiders keeper Lucy Inman.

Thistle continued to press, and were eventually rewarded after Longcake's charging run down the right flank gave her the space to deliver an ideal cross for Tiree Burchill to turn home from point-blank range.

Brian Graham's side could have made it three late on as Rosie Slater tied to capitalise on the swirling winds to let loose a long range effort which rattled the crossbar.
