Eilidh Adams converts Hibs' first penaltyImage source, SNS

Rangers snatched a last-gasp draw in farcical conditions as Hibs missed their chance from the spot to secure three points.

Eilidh Adams drilled home her third penalty of the season just after the half-hour mark to put the hosts ahead, after Michaela McAlonie had been caught by Kirsty Maclean just inside the penalty area.

Rangers pushed for an equaliser as conditions deteriorated rapidly, with the wind making smooth play almost impossible at Meadowbank.

And the wind would prove disruptive as, with eight minutes to go, Kirsty Morrison was brought down by Leah Eddie for a second penalty award to Hibs.

The driving winds meant the ball refused to stay on the spot, delaying Adams from taking the kick, and when it eventually dropped, her wobbling attempt was blocked by Rangers goalkeeper Jenna Fife.

The visitors found a renewed spirit from the save, and pressed Hibs back up the field, winning a free kick in stoppage time. Katie Wilkinson’s effort was saved by Erin Clachers, but Rio Hardy nipped in to blast home the rebound and grab the equaliser.
