Agree with Chris (1708) there's no point in Chelsea buying Victor Osimhen. He'd cost a fortune but offer only a marginal improvement on Jackson, who scored 15 times last season and is improving. Same with Jadon Sancho - expensive and Chelsea already have an abundance of wide forwards. Please, Chelsea, tear up the chequebook.

A bit more information on Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath, who did not travel for the upcoming fixture away at Cardiff amid transfer interest from Ipswich.

The feeling on Teesside is that the Ivorian, 25, is trying to force a move through to the newly-promoted Premier League side after an initial bid was rejected.

However, the Tractor Boys remain interested in Chelsea striker Armando Broja which is currently believed to be the priority deal.

Latte Lath risks facing internal disciplinary action should he remain at the Riverside after the transfer deadline tonight.

Why doesn’t Dominic Calvert Lewin come to Ipswich? If he needs a club, we need a regular goal scorer. Rather than £30m on Armando Broja or another Championship player, let’s get a proven Premier League goalscorer!

The situation with Dean Henderson and Sam Johnstone at Crystal Palace was not sustainable with both players wanting to be number one and having international hopes.

Johnstone had been England's number two before injury and then Henderson took his space in the squad for Euro 2024 while he was out.

Matt Turner comes in on loan from Nottingham Forest on a loan deal until the end of the season and will know he's behind Henderson in the pecking order.

  17. Forest goalkeeper on the verge of Palace movepublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 30 August

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner is close to a loan move to Crystal Palace.

The 30-year-old is being allowed to leave after Forest brought in Carlos Miguel from Corinthians last month.

There is no option for Palace to buy the USA international.

Sam Johnstone's £10m move from Crystal Palace to Wolves has left the Eagles needing to bring in another goalkeeper to compete with Dean Henderson.

Turner only moved to the City Ground from Arsenal for £10m last summer and made 21 appearances for Forest.

Palace have also held a long-term interest in Leicester goalkeeper Daniel Iversen. Blackburn and Sheffield United also made enquiries for the Danish goalkeeper this summer, with the Foxes turning down an offer from Derby.

  18. Clock ticks down on Calvert-Lewinpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 30 August

Dominic Calvert-Lewin of EvertonImage source, Getty Images

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a name that has been doing the rounds on deadline day but there is still no movement there.

Newcastle United could not get a deal done earlier in the window while Chelsea considered the English forward, who is rated at around £25m by Everton, as he enters the final year of his contract with no indication so far that he will sign a new one.

Chelsea's Ivory Coast forward David Datro Fofana had been mentioned as a makeweight but Everton were not biting on that, even though they need the money and risk losing Calvert-Lewin on a free next summer.

Straigh cash will be no good to Everton as it would leave them no time to find a replacement for one of the few threats in a goal-shy team.

With Chelsea still in the hunt for Napoli'a Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney seemingly heading to Saudi Arabia, could there be another late move for Calvert-Lewin if they fail to land their top target?

Ibane Bowat has joined Portsmouth on a three-year deal from Fulham.

The Scotland Under-21 defender has spent the last two seasons out on loan to FC Den Bosch and TSV Hartberg respectively.

Blues boss John Mousinho said: "Ibane has been a target of ours for quite a while and we’re delighted to get him through the door.

"He’s a promising young defender, who has already got a couple of loans under his belt at a high level of European football.

"We believe he can have a positive impact on the squad right away, as well as being a top prospect for the future. Ibane is a cultured and athletic player, who’s comfortable on the ball and also enjoys his defending."
