Tottenham v Bournemouth (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on his side's Europa League defeat to AZ Alkmaar: "The feeling after the game was that we didn't perform anywhere near the level we wanted to or needed to. Disappointed, I'm disappointed, the players are disappointed. The tie is not over though.

"We get a chance to focus on that after the weekend's game because now, that becomes the priority."

  3. Solanke's injury 'a knock'published at 11:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

Tottenham v Bournemouth (Sun, 14:00 GMT)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou on injuries and Dominic Solanke's fitness: "No, too early to tell. With Dom, I think he got a knee to the backside so it's probably a bit sore. It's a knock so hopefully, it settles down quickly.

  4. Ndiaye, McNeil and Calvert-Lewin remain a way off returnpublished at 11:31 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

Wolves v Everton (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Everton

Finally, a bit more team news from Everton boss David Moyes on those more long-term absentees: "The likes of Iliman Ndiaye, Dwight McNeil and Dominic Calvert-Lewin - our forward players that we are needing back - I don't think any of those three are close to a return.

"Iliman is doing better. He isn't running or anything just yet but he is certainly doing better."

United look likely to avoid relegation this year however I have to ask why, at 27 years old, would Mateta even remotely consider joining them? There’d be no footballing logic there whatsoever.

  6. 'I'm normally a bottle of red wine down at 8PM on a Saturday!'published at 11:23 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

Wolves v Everton (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Everton

Everton boss David Moyes on his opinions of a 20:00 GMT kick-off on a Saturday: "I'm normally a bottle of red wine down by that time on a Saturday!

"If you're a traditionalist then you probably don't see 8PM on a Saturday night as a good kick-off time but it's the way it's going and I think football clubs are signing up to it due to the money that is coming in from the broadcasters. We have to go with it even if it will ruin some people's Saturday night out."

  7. Everton not safe from relegation yet - Moyespublished at 11:20 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

Wolves v Everton (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Everton

Everton boss David Moyes on not losing away since his return: "Maybe the secret is that we've had more home games than away games. I have to say that our run of games - we've had quite a few home games and Goodison at the moment is special.

"I have to say that we've been away to Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford and the players have done a really good job. We have to try and keep it going, keep improving and making progress."

On whether he feels the side are safe from the drop now: "We have to always work on what could happen but I think at the moment we are trying to see if we can get a little bit better in every game and play a bit better and do better things. The players have done a remarkable job in the last 5/6 weeks but I'm not thinking we're safe, that's for sure. We have to keep getting points."

  8. Coleman close to returnpublished at 11:16 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

Wolves v Everton (Sat, 20:00 GMT)

    Everton

Everton boss David Moyes on team news: "We took all of the players to UAE [for warm weather training]. Seamus Coleman, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti are all getting themselves closer to getting ready to play again.

"Whether Seamus is ready to be involved I'm not quite sure yet, he's still training and we're trying not to get him re-injured. We will give him every opportunity to make sure he is fine."

Unfortunately Chris (11:00), Ben...(Harry)Rams(dens) has not opted for fish and chips for lunch. A well-known bakery was his choice.

The option is still open for me, however (no marshmallows though. Ironically not a huge fan).

Crystal Palace forward Jean-Phillipe Mateta could emerge as a summer transfer target for Manchester United.

United head coach Ruben Amorim has already said he will have to sell before he buys this summer.

However, yet again after the 1-1 Europa League draw with Real Sociedad, Amorim admitted goalscoring was a huge problem for his team.

Mateta could be the answer. The 27-year-old has scored 15 goals for Palace so far this season and while the France forward could propel the Eagles to an historic first FA Cup triumph this season, he is ambitious and hoping to be part of France's 2026 World Cup squad.

A move to United might help that. Rasmus Hojlund drew another blank in Spain. The 22-year-old has not scored since December and it would be a surprise if Amorim did not try and reinforce his striking options this summer. Mateta appears to fit the right profile.

Mateta, whose contract expires in 2027, is currently sidelined after having 25 stitches inserted in the wound created by a red card challenge from Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts in the FA Cup at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

However, he is expected to be on the club's short break to Marbella and is expected to return for the FA Cup sixth round tie at Fulham on 29 March.

Loving your work, Chris. Just the sort of creativity this live page needs on a Friday. Though I have to say that (Marsh)Mallows has cropped up several times before, most recently when I was on a cricket live text.

But I appreciate the effort, and for that reason I think we can let the Harry Ramsdens one through.

    • 1115: Leicester / Van Nistelrooy

    Liverpool v Southampton

I am at this game for 5 Live and I would not be surprised if Liverpool make quite a few changes.

They have got a big lead at the top of the Premier League but they still have work to do in the Champions League against Paris St-Germain next week. They got a great win in the first leg in Paris but that tie certainly isn't over.

If Reds boss Arne Slot had a third team, he might think about using it here - but he can probably get away with playing his second team and still being too strong for Saints.

It is around 230 miles from Southampton to Liverpool, and fair play to any Saints fans who make the trip - they are absolute die-hards because they are not getting anything at Anfield.

I would be saving my petrol money, because they know they are getting beaten, same as they know they are getting relegated this season.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

  17. 'Maybe not luck if you work as hard as we do'published at 10:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March

Liverpool v Southampton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

More from Liverpool boss Arne Slot: "If you want to win something, if it’s the Premier League or the League Cup, the Champions League or the FA Cup, you need to have once in a while, a game where you don't play your best football and you are lucky, which is maybe not luck if you work as hard as we do, to get away with a result.

"There are no teams that play 38 games that play only good football. Real Madrid is one of the best examples of that, they also find a way to win a game if the other team is better than them.

"Our full focus is now on Southampton, the first of three finals to be played in the upcoming week."

Liverpool v Southampton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Liverpool

Liverpool boss Arne Slot on Cody Gakpo, who missed Wednesday's win over PSG with an ankle issue: "He didn't train yesterday so let’s see if he can train with us today. Again, close call. It's not a long-term injury but he still had a bit of pain yesterday so he was not able to train."

Got to respectfully disagree with Slot. No one says it's lucky when Salah bangs in the goals so why is it lucky when Allison saves shots? PSG had 28 shots, Allison saved nine of them. The rest were high, sliced, shanked, screwed, or otherwise missed. That's not luck, that's poor finishing and great keeping.

    Pretty vague from Arne there.

Fantasy Football players thinking of potentially transferring in Liverpool players or triple-captaining them will hardly be encouraged by that answer.
