He has been carrying a knee injury and has started just one of Aston Villa’s last five games in all competitions. He only played 11 minutes at Parc des Princes in the first leg of Villa’s Champions League quarter-final against Paris St. Germain.

Unai Emery said the next step, if he has time, is to play Ollie Watkins and Marcus Rashford together.

Marcus Rashford and Ollie Watkins have played 383 minutes together.

37 of those minutes have come in an England shirt across two games.

For Aston Villa they have played in seven games together. The most time the pair have spent on the pitch together is 82 minutes during Villa’s 2-0 win over Cardiff City in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Marcus Rashford has assisted Ollie Watkins once - during Villa’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town in February.

"We did with Rashford playing left side but now we are choosing more with both playing as strikers. That's the next step. I want to practice, I want to test but not now, with enough time."
