Marcus Edwards broke the deadlock in a tight first half
Burnley kept a 12th straight clean sheet in the Championship as they thumped Sheffield Wednesday at Turf Moor.
Marcus Edwards opened the scoring with a fine solo goal at the end of a first half where Burnley were second best.
Josh Brownhill added a second 48 seconds after coming off the bench in the second half, Connor Roberts scored a third soon after and Manuel Benson smashed in a stunning fourth with the last kick of the game.
The scoreline was cruel on Wednesday, who were much the better side in the first half, but they could not break Burnley's run without conceding a league goal that has stood since 21 December.
In what is turning into a record-breaking season for the Lancashire side, goalkeeper James Trafford kept his 24th clean sheet to equal the Championship's best by Wolves' John Ruddy and QPR's Paddy Kenny.
There are still 12 matches remaining to extend that even further, but their next target will be to overtake Manchester United's English record of 14 straight league shut-outs in 2008-09.
More importantly, Scott Parker's side move two points behind second-placed Sheffield United in their quest for an immediate return to the Premier League, while 10th-placed Wednesday are four points outside the top six.
Having rode their luck, Burnley produced a goal two minutes before half-time with their first meaningful attack.
Edwards found Josh Cullen making a run into the right side of the box, who then pulled the ball back to the former Sporting attacker. Edwards jinked superbly around the last defender and lifted a silky finish into the roof of the net.
Just after the hour, Burnley worked Jaidon Anthony into space down the right and his first-time cross found Brownhill, who flicked home with his right boot for the 50th goal of his career.

Given their superb defensive record, 2-0 looked a very safe lead and it was made unassailable by a very similar goal eight minutes later.
Wednesday failed to clear from the top of their penalty area, Anthony was found this time on the left side of the box and another low cross was tucked in by Roberts.
Some gloss was added to the result in stoppage time when Benson stepped off his left foot into space just outside the area and struck a thunderbolt into the top-right corner.
The 4-0 scoreline was harsh on the visitors, but Danny Rohl's side wasted several excellent chances.
They should have opened the scoring after 20 minutes as Djeidi Gassama found Stuart Armstrong at the near post with a low cross from the right but he flicked his effort wide of the far post.
Then 1-0 down after the break, Armstrong looked certain to score again as he flicked Josh Windass' cross towards goal but Burnley defender Maxime Esteve made a block to take the effort wide of the near post and celebrated as fiercely as if he had scored himself.
Burnley manager Scott Parker told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"First half we started pretty slowly and lacked a bit of energy but the goal came at a great time for us.
"We were clinical, it's another clean sheet, four goals and overall I'm very pleased.
"There were times when pressure was coming and this side prides itself on keeping clean sheets and tonight again we were resolute and stood up when we had to."
Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"Until the first goal we played a good game and we created chances, then we started the second half with more good moments but conceded again and then it's hard.
"We're doing well between both boxes but to win games you have to be strong in the box.
"We are doing so many things right but it's hard and you're seeing the limit of where we are at the minute."
