  16. 'Aston Villa have got a fantastic manager'published at 23:53 British Summer Time 18 September

FT: Young Boys 0-3 Aston Villa

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Aston Villa have got a fantastic manager who is so fantastically aware of how to win games in Europe. Unai Emery has small details he likes to put in his team.

He loves finding players who find players who can get in positions and hurt the opposition. Everything they work on in training pays off.

  17. 'Slot changed it'published at 23:51 British Summer Time 18 September

    FT: AC Milan 1-3 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

Arne Slot changed it and brought Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch closer together [after the opening goal].

They play so well and they get in the half positions where it cuts right through the AC Milan midfield. This hurt them so much and their relationship in midfield is key.

  19. 'What has hit us?'published at 23:45 British Summer Time 18 September

    FT: Celtic 5-1 Slovan Bratislava

    Joe Hart
Former England & Celtic goalkeeper on Champions League Match of the Day

It was an incredible game to watch. Celtic will have earmarked that game, home to Slovan Bratislava, as a great opportunity. They haven't neccesarily taken those opportunities in recent times.

From the moment the game started they were on the front foot and Bratislava must have thought, 'What has hit us?' I love the fact that they played so well, I am absolutely buzzing for them.

  20. 'I'm pleased to be at Man City'published at 23:41 British Summer Time 18 September

FT: Man City 0-0 Inter Milan

    Manchester City

Pep Guardiola, whose contract expires at the end of the season, was asked by an Italian journalist post-match whether he would ever manage in Italy.

"I love Italy but I really enjoy being here," replied the Manchester City boss.

"I love English football. It is fantastic. I really enjoy it. They leave you alone to get on with your job. That doesn’t happen anywhere else. This is a great club. I really feel good here. I am pleased to be here."
