Hearts' Elton Kabangu (R) celebrates scoring to make it 2-0 with teammate James Wilson during a Premier Sports Cup group stage match between Hamilton Academical and Heart of Midlothian at Broadwood StadiumImage source, SNS

Hearts made it two wins from two in the Premier Sports Cup group stage with a comfortable victory over Hamilton Academical at Broadwood.

Like they did on Saturday against Dunfermline Athletic, Derek McInnes' side came flying out the traps and were rewarded with an early goal.

Stuart Findlay, who joined on a season-long loan from Oxford United, nodded in at the back post five minutes into his Hearts debut after missing the Pars visit to suspension.

Again like Saturday, Hearts then slowed up. Though they were dominant against their League 1 hosts, they didn't do much with their possession.

That was until Christian Borchgrevink flashed a ball across the face of goal for Elton Kabuangu to tap in on the stroke of half-time.

Accies boss John Rankin stated pre-match he believes Hearts are the strongest team in the group stages. Their bench would certainly support that sentiment.

Summer signing Claudio Braga went home with a goal and an assist, despite only featuring for 25 minutes.

The Portuguese had only been on seconds when he teed up James Wilson as the Scotland striker made it two goals in as may games.

And he got the change to celebrate on his own when his strike from just inside the box deflected by Jamie Smith in the home goal.

In their first game at their new home in Cumbernauld, Accies, who defeated Stirling Albion on matchday one, failed to trouble Ryan Fulton in the away goal.
