Does the six-second rule still stand? On the three times I counted Raya, he held on to the ball for 25 seconds, 22 seconds and 17 seconds. This is something that could be easily clamped down on.

    Justin from Brighton

Forgetting Raya for a moment, has anyone ever seen this law enforced?!

Kovacic, Stones, Lewis, Gundogan… I think City will be alright, these players start centre midfield for most of the other 19 teams! Sad for Rodri though on what could be his Ballon d'Or year.

The vast majority are every happy with this deal. It will be nice to get some normality back into the club.

They [The Friedkin Group] own AS Roma over in Italy and they seem to have stabilised Roma. There is a few issues there, they have changed their manager, but off the pitch Roma have seen a massive up turn in terms of their financial situation.

They are ruthless when it comes to results on the pitch, they have aims and goals of where Roma want to be.

If they see things not going well they will make those decisions and having someone in charge like that at Everton is exactly what we need.

The Friedkin Group reached an agreement to buy Farhad Moshiri's majority 94% stake in Everton on Monday.

The deal is subject to regulatory approval from the Premier League, the Football Association and the Financial Conduct Authority.

It is believed to be worth in excess of £400m, leaving Moshiri with little return on his substantial investment.

The US-based group is led by chairman Dan Friedkin, who also owns Roma. He has a net worth of £5.7bn according to Forbes., external

Everton would become the 10th club in the Premier League under majority American ownership.

The deal would bring to a conclusion the turbulent Moshiri reign. The British-Iranian businessman has invested more than £750m in the club since 2016, but many supporters have been deeply unhappy about his ownership.

Everton, who have not played outside the top flight during the Premier League era, have been in the bottom half for the last three seasons, finishing 16th, 17th and 15th.

Last season they were deducted points twice - amounting to a total of eight after an appeals process - for breaching Premier League financial rules on the level of losses clubs are allowed to make.

Enzo Maresca will make wholesale changes at home to Barrow in the Carabao Cup as Ben Chilwell returns to the squad for the first time this season.

The Italian previously said the 27-year-old defender would "struggle" if he stayed at the club as he was made to train in what reports described as a 'bomb squad' of 15 players away from the main first-team group.

Internally, the group was called a 'loan group' but Chilwell has been reintegrated into Maresca's squad since the transfer window closed after failing to secure a move.

When asked if Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka and academy duo Tyrique George and Josh Acheampong could feature in Tuesday's third-round tie, Maresca said: "Yes, they are going to be in the squad tomorrow.

Arsenal may well have used their dark arts, 'park the bus' tactics, but don't forget City reacted to them. They have more than enough in their locker (four Premier League's, one Champions League) to win matches. They were below-par, lacked creativity and are now creating excuses.

Arsenal v Bolton Wanderers (Wed, 19:45 BST)

    Arsenal

Arteta suggested 'tomorrow, you will find out' when asked who picked up an injury against Manchester City.

But, of course, Arsenal are expected to rotate their squad for their Carabao Cup match with Bolton, so there are likely to be a number of first-team players out anyway. So, when that team news comes in, it's not guaranteed that we'll have the answer at that point.
