The pitch at Dens Park is looking terrific, ironic given everything said about it during the course of the campaign.

However, as soon as the game is finished today, work is going to start on ripping it up and ensuring there is no repeat of the issues it has suffered this term.

I'm told the diggers are waiting outside.

Hearts manager Steven Naismith tells BBC Scotland: "It's been a really good season with loads of progress made. We're in a better place than a year ago in every department.

"It's one of those situations where we could get everything we want. [If we win] we hit 70 points and then have beaten every team in the league.

"If we don't we don't get that. But I won't let that detract from a good season."

There was quite the party atmosphere outside Celtic Park earlier for of trophy day.

Despite officially wrapping up the title midweek, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is still looking for the kind of performance he's seen from his players recently.

He's made six changes but doesn't think that'll impact the way his side play.

As for St Mirren, their manager Stephen Robinson says they haven't come to be part of a party.

  4. St Mirren out to avoid five from fivepublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 18 May

    Celtic v St Mirren (12:30)

Celtic will lift their 12th title in 13 seasons later on, four of which manager Brendan Rodgers has played an integral role in, but they have a game to play first.

The champions will look to end the league campaign in style against a St Mirren side they have already beaten four times this term.

The Paisley club have enjoyed a stellar season, though, qualifying for Europe for the first time in ages and Stephen Robinson wants his team to end on a high.

But the Buddies are winless and goalless in the final match of each of their last three league seasons.

Dens Park is the venue as two of the Premiership's success stories - Dundee and Kilmarnock - bring the curtain down on their seasons.

After spending last term in the second tier, the Dee have made a real impact in the top one this time round.

In what is his maiden season as a manager, Tony Docherty has steered them to a top-six finish.

As for Killie, the superlatives have rightly been directed their way after finishing fourth and securing European football.

Unsurprisingly Derek McInnes has already claimed one of the Premiership manager of the year awards.

So both sides would dearly love to end their fine campaigns with a win this afternoon.

It’s a glorious day in the capital as Hearts and Rangers bring down the curtain on their league campaigns.

For the home side this is one last opportunity to defeat the only Premiership side they haven’t managed to get the better of this season.

For Rangers they will use this match as warm-up for the Scottish Cup Final in a week's time. Phillipe Clement will be keen to ensure there is momentum going into the showpiece match at the national stadium.

And for the Scottish players out on the pitch, a last chance to impress the Scotland manager Steve Clarke ahead of the squad announcement for the Euros on Wednesday, which in itself should ensure today's match does not descend into a dull affair.

A 70-point finish would be quite the achievement for Hearts, they've only managed that once before.

    Celtic v St Mirren (12:30)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says he is able to appreciate days like today more during his second spell as boss.

Why's that? "Knowing what I've missed," he tells BBC Scotland. "When I was here first time I loved it, but I was always looking at the next thing rather than really enjoying the real highs.

"It's experience and a greater understanding of these moments."

Rodgers adds that his team selection, which includes starts for Anthony Ralston and Maik Nawrocki, is with a focus on next week's Scottish Cup final.
