Brendan Rodgers said there there's still "a long way to go".

Given the result at Ibrox earlier, should Celtic win their next three games, including this one, they'll travel to St Johnstone on 6 April, able to retain their crown in Perth.

That's the penultimate game before the split...

After their historic win at Ibrox last weekend, I asked the St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson what chance of another famous win this evening against the other half of Glasgow's big two.

'Why not?' was his reply. Reasoning that Hibs managed it seven days ago.

The Buddies' problem? They've not even scored a goal against Celtic in the champions' last three visits to Paisley.

The time before that, they did score. And lost 5-1.

  5. 'No need to risk Jota' - Rodgerspublished at 17:25 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    St Mirren v Celtic (17:30)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "We can't look to far ahead.

"Jota has played a lot of football recently, when he hadn't played a lot over a long period of time.

"Him coming back was going to be a course of building him up and there's no need to risk an injury to him when we've got so many games to play."

  6. St Mirren 'going to have a go' - Robinsonpublished at 17:24 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    St Mirren v Celtic (17:30)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "We're not going to sit back, we're going to have a go. The pitch isn't great, hopefully it will slow down the tempo.

"We need to be at the top of our game defensively but when we land on the ball we have to try and be brave.

"If things go your way and everything aligns properly there's no reason why you can't get a result."

  7. Idah returns for Celtic; Olusanya in for Saintspublished at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

    St Mirren v Celtic (17:30)

Both sides have made one change from their midweek ventures.

Adam Idah leads the line for Celtic, replacing Jota, so, expect Daizen Maeda to move back out wide.

Greg Taylor also returns to the squad after missing the Aberdeen win due to his wife being in labour.

Stephen Robinson brings Toyosi Olusanya back in, and he replaces Jonah Ayunga, who misses out through injury.

    FT: Rangers 1-2 Motherwell

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Scotland at Ibrox

It's a fantastic outcome for Motherwell. They executed the game plan superbly.

Rangers fans must be tearing their hair out. This performance was nowhere near good enough and the fans that remained let them know it.

Three home defeats on the trot to Queens Park, St Mirren and now Motherwell is a horrendous return. Barry Ferguson and his team will have much to ponder ahead of their trip to Turkey midweek.

  17. FULL-TIME Rangers 1-2 Motherwellpublished at 16:59 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

Barry Ferguson's Ibrox bow as boss and James Tavernier's 500th Rangers game?

Motherwell played the party pooper role to perfection.

Luke Armstrong and Tom Sparrow grabbed the visitors' goals in the first half and that moves them up to sixth place.

Cyriel Dessers got one back and was denied a second by an offside call, with VAR ruling Danilo got a slight touch on the ball beforehand.

  19. FULL-TIME Dundee 1-1 St Johnstonepublished at 16:57 Greenwich Mean Time 1 March

Dundee have missed out on the chance to put some distance between themselves and bottom spot.

Makenzie Kirk fired bottom-side St Johnstone ahead in the first half, but Simon Murray replied a matter of minutes later.

Murray, Aaron Donnelly and Scott Tiffoney all passed up big opportunities to take all three points at the end.

Tony Docherty's side are now eight matches without a win... St Johnstone are still alive.
