Joelinton puts the ball in the back of the net but the cheers are short-lived as the flag goes up.

    This is tight, though...

The out-swinging corner of Alex Berenguer lands on the head of Unai Gomez but he nods straight at Nick Pope.

    That's a chance.

Really prominent start from Dortmund. Daniel Svensson is coming off that left-hand-side, and there is some brave forward passes from Dortmund. City are trying to get a feel - Pepijn Lijnders [Man City assistant head coach] has popped up and has some tactical shouts for Man City.

What City haven't done is send the long ball in-behind for Jeremy Doku, Savinho or Erling Haaland.

Does that really make you fall over?

Looks like the long throw ins have also made a return in the German Bundesliga.

Maximilian Beier launches one into the mix and it could be dangerous but City eventually clear.

Everyone slating Man City because Haaland is getting all the goals....isn't that what a striker is there for?? The hating is no more than jealousy. United have got Sesko...Liverpool have Isak...Arsenal have Gyorkes. Haaland will score more than all if them combined and they'd all take him in a heartbeat.

I can tell you that the Borussia Dortmund fans, as expected, are bouncing in their corner of the Etihad.

They have filled pretty much all three tiers and are making a heck of a racket while jumping up and down in unison.

Athletic Club come forward but Robert Navarro's cross is cleared before Dani Vivian works room outside the box but his pass forward is massively overhit.

A huge waste for the visitors.

This Dortmund side, I have never seen a team come with confidence like this as they move City around.

    Really promising from them.

The smoke that billowed out to help with the lightshow is still lingering around the pitch and it's making it a little difficult to spot the players.

Someone let me know when they have kicked off.

    Thanks.

There's a rather snazzy lightshow going on at Etihad Stadium before kick-off.

The names and portraits of each player are being beamed onto the pitch as they are called out by the stadium announcer.
