    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

Good work from Savinho down the right-hand side, skipping past one, two players then winning the free-kick.

No sign of Erling Haaland there for Savinho to cross to.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:19 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

Unai Gomez beats the offside trap but the angle is narrowing with every step he takes. He goes for the near post but hits the foot of the post.

    Carlos Forbs

    It's raining goals in Belgium!

The hosts regain the lead after a great move that started from a Barcelona corner.

Lovely one-touch stuff before former Manchester City academy player Carlos Forbs clips it past Wojciech Szczesny.

  4. Postpublished at 20:18 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

Despite being a goal down, Athletic Club are having a real go here. They're just lacking the quality in the final third at the moment.

  5. Across Europe...published at 20:18 GMT

    Marseille 0-0 Atalanta

There's been a bit of drama at the Velodrome as Geronimo Rulli has just given away and then saved a penalty.

The Marseille keeper took out Atalanta striker Nikola Krstovic as he charged into the box but atoned for the error by stopping Charles De Ketelaere's spot kick.

Elsewhere Dodi Lukébakio has just hit the bar for winless and pointless Benfica against Leverkusen, while Kairat are holding out Inter at San Siro, and Ajax and Galatasaray are in stalemate.

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

Football news reporter at Etihad Stadium

Daniel Svensson actually turned the wrong way to try and see where Savinho was.

He's walking a tightrope now for the rest of the game against the speedy Brazilian.

  7. Postpublished at 20:17 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

Newcastle are up fifth in the league phase table as things stand.

    Dreamland for the Magpies.

  8. Two blocks before Burn scorespublished at 20:16 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

There's two blocks from Newcastle to allow Dan Burn to get on the end of that free-kick - from Joelinton and Thiaw. Where Burn starts his run from is very clever as well, and his marker just switches off completely.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 GMT on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  9. 'The pace did Svensson'published at 20:15 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

    Michael Brown
Former Man City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at the Etihad

Daniel Svensson is on a booking. The pace did Svensson. There was a covering defender, and it was an easy decision.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:15 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

Daniel Svensson is the first into the referee's book for a foul on Savinho.

I don't think the Dortmund midfielder knew Savinho was there. Smart play from the Brazilian.

  11. Postpublished at 20:15 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

This Newcastle side is like land of the giants compared to Athletic Club but Unai Simon does well to come out and catch the corner.

  12. 'Dortmund have opened it up'published at 20:14 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

    Michael Brown
Former Man City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at the Etihad

We often come to the Etihad and teams sit, wait and delay, but Dortmund have opened it up.

Those Dortmund supporters are very vocal for the away team.

  13. Postpublished at 20:14 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

Athletic Club boss Ernesto Valverde looks stunned on the sideline. Dan Burn was free as a bird in the box and had time to guide his header.

  14. Postpublished at 20:14 GMT

    Club Brugge 1-1 Barcelona

    A fast and frantic start.

Twelve minutes on the clock and already two goals, four attempts, three on target.

The latest one falls to Marcus Rashford, four goals in three Champions League appearances for Barcelona. His first-time attempt flies just over the bar.

  15. Bullet header from Dan Burnpublished at 20:13 GMT

    Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Club

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

Dan Burn may have been unmarked, but what a header that is from the Newcastle United defender.

It brings back memories of his opener in the Carabao Cup final back in March. Every outfield player goes over to celebrate with him.

Alan Shearer, who is watching on, would have been proud of that one.

  16. Get it goingpublished at 20:12 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

    Shamoon Hafez
Football news reporter at Etihad Stadium

Dortmund are taking their time over every goal kick which is beginning to irritate the home fans.

Experienced Polish referee Szymon Marciniak tells them to get on with it.

  17. 'Classic Phil Foden'published at 20:11 GMT

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

    Michael Brown
Former Man City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live at the Etihad

Much better from City. That is classic Phil Foden.

He is in the middle of the pitch, 25 yards out and he lets it go across him, I was thinking 'goal'.

Gregor Kobel parries it out and Savinho is in an offside position.

GOAL - Newcastle 1-0 Athletic Clubpublished at 20:11 GMT

    Dan Burn (11 mins)

    Incredible header!

Kieran Trippier delivers his free-kick to the far post and there is Dan Burn with a bullet header that curls in off the post.

You won't see many better headers than that.

    Man City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund

Oooooh that's some hit from Phil Foden. He takes a lovely touch to get away from Marcel Sabitzer on the edge of the 18-yard box then unleashes a powerful strike but it's straight at Gregor Kobel.

Savinho is there on the rebound but hits the post. The Brazilian was offside so that would not have counted anyway, but Foden's would.

Pretty up and down season from Newcastle so far. Let's hope tonight is one of the ups!
