Duk has left Aberdeen for La Liga side Leganes.

The Cape Verde international scored 27 goals in 113 appearances but now leaves for an "undisclosed fee".

The 24-year-old looked to be on his way out of the club in the summer after "failing to report to training and is currently absent without permission," but scored two goals in 22 appearances this season.

Jimmy Thelin explained Duk has "spoken for some time about his desire to try and make the next step in his career".

"When that happens, I want to ensure all our focus is on the players who can drive Aberdeen towards our objectives," he added in a club statement.

“His attitude and application since September cannot be faulted and we thank him for his efforts, and of course, for his contribution to the club over the last three years.”

All of his 16 appearances this season have come from the substitutes' bench.

  16. Arfield back to Falkirk with Premiership return in sightpublished at 23:03 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

Scott Arfield has returned to Falkirk - where he started his career - on a permanent deal.

Arfield, now 36, left Falkirk for Huddersfield Town aged 21.

He came back to Scotland for a five-year stint with Rangers where he won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup, as well as being part of the team who made the Europa League final.

Arfield was most recently at Bolton Wanderers, but has joined John McGlynn's title-chasing Bairns in the Scottish Championship.

"Coming back to Falkirk is something I’ve always had as a goal in football, in whatever circumstances I could help the club," Arfield told club media.

“I always thought that would be in the Premiership, but it’s an incredible challenge we’ve got, and what a reward there could be at the end of the season.

"This club should be in the Premiership, and our goal this season is to get up there."
