An excellent strike from Emily Whelan proved the difference as Glasgow City struggled to break down a resolute Motherwell back line.
Whelan burst down the left wing half-way through the first half, before cutting in and firing past Motherwell keeper Rebecca Cameron.
Robust defending from both sides kept chances to minimum as the clock ticked by, but neither side could find the breakthrough.
