Ross County manager Don Cowie tells BBC Scotland: "It was a difficult game, every inch a first game of the season, a little erratic at times. Overall, delighted to come away with a point and a clean sheet.

"That's been the challenge going into the new season, we've not been good enough away from home, especially last year. Points are important, and clean sheets also, gives us a bit of confidence.

"The pleasing thing is we stuck together in a difficult game to make sure we got a point. Everyone put their body on the line. Can we play better? Absolutely. It's something we'll look to implement in the next couple of weeks because we've had a lot of new players come in. Some are behind schedule fitness wise.

"The way our club is, players settle in well in terms of environment, but sometimes it's about being on the grass and getting training into them."

Our edited interview doesn't show it, but Steven Naismith apparently asked the SPFL to end the season today after finding out his team is top of the league on alphabetical order.

Yes, I'm joking. Obviously. Sorry, I'm bored.

  6. 'We created enough to win' - Kettlewellpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 3 August

    FT: Motherwell 0-0 Ross County

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "I would love to be standing here with three points. The opportunities created and saves made by Ross Laidlaw suggest we did deserve to win the game.

"The most important thing is it was a better performance than last week, which we got in application, energy and desire to win the game. That said, we still feel there's loads of room for improvement.

"Without question we have to be better in the final third. A real positive is how assured we were in our defending throughout. It's always difficult against Jordan White but we acquitted ourselves well.

"You find problems throughout the course of the season. The bit that is staring us in the face is that we created enough chances to score, but we didn't."
