Mikael Mandron took his season's tally to four with a treble in Paisley
Mikael Mandron scored a hat-trick as St Mirren consolidate their position at the top of Premier Sports Cup Group D with a goal-laden win over Annan Athletic.
Killian Phillips impressively curled in to put St Mirren in front early on and the midfielder quickly netted a second.
Mikael Mandron then added his name to the scoresheet as the Buddies continued to dominate.
Trialist Myles Gaffney's shot from outside the box reduced Annan's deficit before the break and he got his second with a header after the break.
However, Richard King converted a penalty - his first St Mirren goal - to ease the home fans' nerves before Mandron and substitute Jayden Richardson scored from inside the box.
Mandron got his third from outside the area and sub Roland Idowu struck in added time.
Stephen Robinson's side, who are still to play Ayr United next Sunday (15:00), are a point clear of second-placed Ayr and five clear of Forfar Athletic and Arbroath. Annan prop up the group on one point.
