Goals have not exactly been flowing for Newcastle United in the Premier League.

But the visitors were pushing for that opener - and they have got their reward.

Union are far from out of this, though. There was a huge roar when the Belgian champions won a corner and they carry a threat at set-plays.

Newcastle will need to stay switched on.

Encouragement for Union.

They move the ball quickly, back to front, to find Promise David in space on the left.

His cross is deflected behind and after the second of two corners, Adem Zorgane fires a shot in from the edge of the box.

Easily saved by Nick Pope, though.

Newcastle continue to push forward after the goal.

Anthony Elanga is causing problems again down the right and his near-post cross is met by Anthony Gordon.

Just too much on it from the England winger, though, and the shot flies past the post.

I think I said it about five minutes ago about getting the ball into the box but if it's in the vicinity of Woltemade, he's going to go for it.

You can see that Tonali is over the moon with that. It is now about game management, Newcastle can't sit back, they have been brilliant in the first quarter of an hour.

I think the experience is going to be needed tonight for Newcastle, in terms of quietening the stadium down.
