Mihailo Ivanovic now has 11 goals in all competitions for Millwall this season
Millwall bounced back from Friday's defeat at Blackburn with a 3-1 victory at home to freefalling Norwich to keep the Lions firmly in the Championship play-off hunt.
Mihailo Ivanovic smashed in Millwall's close-range opener from Femi Azeez's cross before the winger got his own goal following a set-piece.
Norwich responded just before half-time via defender Shane Duffy's header but any hopes of a comeback were quelled midway through the second half by Ivanovic's second goal of the game.
The win moves Millwall up to eighth, within three points of the play-offs with two games to go, after a day when several of their top-six rivals lost, while Norwich slip to 14th.
Norwich were unable to deal with the tricky feet and low ball of Azeez as Serbian striker Ivanovic, a physical presence and handful for many a defender in the league, struck Millwall's opener past the Canaries' third choice keeper Vicente Reyes.
Azeez was industrious all game as he and the rest of Millwall's front line regularly pressed high up the pitch, causing plenty of problems for Norwich's nervy defence when trying to pass out from the back.
His hard work was rewarded when George Saville's free-kick delivery skimmed off the leaping ex-Reading player's head into the net.
Not giving in, the Canaries still moved through the thirds of the pitch with crisp passing albeit it was a corner delivery that ignited a potential comeback as veteran defender Duffy nodded home Jacob Wright's ball in.
Northern Ireland international Saville helped Millwall regain their two-goal cushion as another pinpoint cross, this time from a corner, found the six-foot-two frame of Ivanovic for the 20-year-old to grab his second goal.
Azeez and Casper De Norre missed a couple of later efforts but Norwich were spared any more Millwall goals as, nonetheless, their defensive frailties still led to a third straight defeat.
Millwall manager Alex Neil told BBC Radio London:
"Regardless of the other results I think it was a brilliant performance. I'd probably say it's up there as one of the best performances I've had since I've been here.
"I thought we were really aggressive, we created so many chances in the game. We scored three but we probably could have scored more.
"I thought defensively we were sound throughout the match. We've got a debutant at left back, a young goalkeeper and I thought both of them were excellent as well.
"All in all, a great day at The Den if you take into consideration the results. I don't think we could've hoped for much more."
Norwich City player Josh Sargent told BBC Radio Norfolk:
"(It's) Embarrassing. That's it. I don't have much more to say. The fans deservedly are very upset.
"There were so many out here, supporting us and travelling today and it's just nowhere near good enough from us.
"I'm not going to say we didn't work hard because there are guys working hard but [we're not] just doing the basics right, simple passes, tracking back."
