Saoirse Noonan scored two of Celtic's seven goals

Celtic maintain pressure on Glasgow City at the top of the SWPL table with an emphatic 7-1 win over Motherwell.

Motherwell held off Celtic for almost half an hour before an impressive bit of individual skill from Morgan Cross gave the hosts the advantage.

Striker Saoirse Noonan and full-back Emma Lawton added to Celtic's tally in the first half, marking a first goal of the season for Scotland defender Lawton.

Kelly Clark also netted her first of the season when she added Celtic's fourth with just over 20 minutes to play.

Cross followed up the captain's goal with her second a minute later before Maria McAneny fired in Celtic's sixth.

Saoirse Noonan got her second of the game on the 90th minute when she smashed home Amy Richardson's cross.

The result leaves Celtic three points behind Glasgow City at the top of the SWPL while Motherwell fail to make up ground on the top five and are joint on points with Aberdeen.
