Djeid Gassama scored a stunning volley as Sheffield Wednesday came from a goal down against Oxford United to earn a fifth win in six Championship away games.
Oxford, whose fine home record has brought 16 of their 18 points so far this season, led when Greg Leigh coolly slotted his third goal of the season after Cameron Brannagan's cross was flicked on,
The Owls levelled through Josh Windass, who was left unmarked to fire the ball home first time from a Shae Charles corner - and they seized control after the break.
Jamal Lowe made it 2-1 with a simple close-range finish following a Yan Valeri cross from the right.
And Gassama's spectacular strike ensured Oxford slipped to their fifth defeat in a six-game winless run after Barry Bannan and Michael Smith combined brilliantly.
Leigh's first-half opener, after Dane Scarlett tested Owls keeper James Beadle, gave the U's belief that their poor run could come to an end.
But Wednesday, with the evergreen Bannan outstanding in midfield, improved and were far more threatening after drawing level when Windass ran in unopposed to convert Charles' outswinging delivery.
Lowe's simple finish, after Elliott Moore's attempted clearance fell kindly in the box, and Gassama's glorious right-foot effort gave the visitors breathing space.
And had it not been for a trio of saves by U's keeper Jamie Cumming, including a superb one to deny Svante Ingelsson getting on the scoresheet, the Owls could have won by a greater margin.
Oxford, who have now who have now managed just one win in their past 15 games, never looked like preventing Wednesday from securing a 10th away league win of the calendar year – their best away record since 2006.
Oxford United boss Des Buckingham told BBC Radio Oxford:
"We asked for a response from Wednesday in terms of being a lot more creative in the final third and we had some big moments to extend our 1-0 lead.
"I'm happy with the reaction but disappointed with how the second half played out.
"I am who I am and we will always be as honest as we can with the media, fans and the players and they know that. We've shown the success of that together.
"We're not happy with where we are in terms of results. Our aim this year was to stay in the league, that is the reality of it.
"We will work as hard as we can to drive performances out of this team."
Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I'm very happy for the team to come back from 1-0 down.
"We should have self confidence but be humble, I think that's very important. It's not normal to have so many away wins.
"You have to do a lot of things right to take points in this league.
"Everything wasn't perfect but we controlled the game in the last 15 minutes."
