  1. How do you mark a player like Yamal? With difficulty, says Warnockpublished at 07:23 British Summer Time

Warnock on Yamal's 'outrageous' performance against Inter

Former Liverpool and Aston Villa full-back Stephen Warnock summed up, on Match of the Day, the quandary facing any defender tasked with marking Lamine Yamal:

"This guy is different class. He makes the right decisions for such a young player and this [his goal] is just outrageous. That finish, we've seen it so many times from him where he just guides it into the far corner.

"The problem when you are a full-back playing against him is what is your decision going to be?

"Are you going to tight to him? Then he can out-run you.

"Are you going to stand off him? Then he can pick a pass.

"And he's got that pace in behind as well...he's just a delight to watch."

Lamine Yamal's classy opener against Inter Milan in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final can be added to the goal he scored for Spain in the last four of Euro 2024.

Already one of the best players in the world - and before he even turns 18.

His performances have led to obvious comparisons with Barca's most famous son, Lionel Messi, and a string of superlatives - "a genius", "a cheat code" and "a phenomenal talent".

So join the debate: tell us what you think of the teen star, who would you compare him to and can you remember a more exciting talent at the age of 17?

Also, how about last night's game? And, after seeing all four semi-finalists in action, can you pick a winner?

Yamal pulls one back against Inter

Inter Milan played their part in a scintillating match at Barcelona's temporary home - the city's Olympic Stadium.

But while the Serie A champions arguably hold the advantage after claiming a notable 3-3 draw, there was no doubt who was the star of the show.

Teen sensation Lamine Yamal celebrated his 100th game in a Barca shirt by putting in a virtuoso display, helping the La Liga leaders back into the match after they had conceded two early goals.

At 17 years and 291 days, Lamine Yamal surpassed Kylian Mbappe's record to become the youngest player to score in a Champions League semi-final.

After starting the Barca fightback with a stunning solo goal, he continued to power the hosts forward and twice hit the woodwork.
