  1. An EFL night to remember...published at 22:30 British Summer Time 19 August

There's a reason there are never any EFL invincibles, and it's nights like this...

Over 46 games the cream generally rises to the top, but on any given Tuesday, who knows what might happen? It's why we love it so.

Stevenage might not be champions come May, but they produced a dramatic comeback worthy of title-winners in the final few minutes at Port Vale to make it four wins to start the campaign, Cardiff were expected to be up there but were pushed all the way by newly-promoted AFC Wimbledon while Bradford, who came up with them are one of just four unbeaten teams after toppling many people's title favourites Stockport on their own patch.

At the other end not many would have picked Peterborough and newly-relegated Plymouth to be pointless at this stage, with Reading, Wycombe and Blackpool lurking just above them.

Free-scoring Crewe are the only perfect team standing in League Two, while Cheltenham are the only side yet to pick up a point.

We're back tomorrow for Bolton v Reading in League One and Notts County v Shrewsbury in League Two - the only thing we know is that we don't know what will happen.

We'll see you back here then, enjoy the rest of your evening!

    Bottom of League Two

It's been a good day for Barnet.

The promoted side see their first EFL points in a win over Swindon Town.

Bristol Rovers and Crawley Town find their first point of the season through their respective draws with Oldham Athletic and MK Dons but for Cheltenham Town the wait continues.

  3. Crewe and Grimsby impresspublished at 22:27 British Summer Time 19 August

    Top of League Two

Grimsby's hard-fought 1-0 victory over Walsall sees them rise to second place as they go home with an undefeated record.

Meanwhile, Crewe Alexandra's win over Fleetwood Town wasn't quite so difficult. They breezed to a 4-1 victory to secure four wins in their opening four games.

The Railwaymen now remain at the top of the table, this time alone as Chesterfield's surprise heavy loss to Gillingham drops them down into third.

    Bottom of League One

The only teams in the bottom half to have a good night were Reading and Rotherham, who both moved up the table... without even playing. Reading face Bolton tomorrow night looking to get off the mark themselves.

Peterborough sit bottom of the pile after losing their opening four games for the first time in the EFL while Tom Cleverley's Plymouth have also lost all four following their relegation from the Championship.

Northampton and Wycombe were beaten 1-0 at home while the only other winless side Port Vale might have been in the top half, were it not for Stevenage's late-show in a 2-1 win at Vale Park.

    Top of League One

Stevenage are top of the pile after winning their opening four games in the EFL for the first time.

Cardiff's dramatic win at AFC Wimbledon has them in second, ahead of Barnsley on goal difference while look at Bradford, newly promoted and one of just four unbeaten teams after a famous win at Stockport.

Huddersfield got back to winning ways to end Doncaster's unbeaten start while Luton and Lincoln have also registered three wins in their opening four games.

  7. 'Bradford weren't at the races in the first half'published at 22:11 British Summer Time 19 August

    FT: Stockport 1-2 Bradford

    Gary Jones
Former Bradford City captain on BBC Radio Leeds

I thought Bradford City weren't at the races in the first half, and they allowed Stockport to get on top.

They were quicker and sharper than City, and we looked a little bit leggy, and a little bit shell-shocked.

Overall, Bradford started the game poorly and we saw the response in the second half and it was incredible and you would think that would give them a massive boost going forward this season.

  8. League One full-time headlinespublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 19 August

    • Still no wins for Wycombe after Exeter beat them 1-0 at Adams Park. Jack Grimmer with the own goal in that game.

    Whew.

This has been quite a night of football and Grimsby's victorious battle against Walsall is just part of it...

  10. 'Do Walsall have the firepower?'published at 22:06 British Summer Time 19 August

    FT: Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

That is now 10 points from four games for Grimsby, they really are flying at the moment.

The Saddlers now have six from their four games and I reckon the debate after this game will be about the firepower at Mat Sadler's disposal.

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

Grimsby remain undefeated. What a start.

The Mariners haven't begun a season this well since 1990 and they have well earned that tonight.

It was air tight between the two teams, with both having goal opportunities. Both sides can take confidence from their performances but the visitors... they're showing they are true contenders.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 22:01 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

Grimsby can't do anything with the free-kick and the ball goes back up the other end.

It results in a corner, which even Saddlers stopper Myles Roberts is up to try and put in the net.

They can't though and for a moment, it looks like Grimsby might have the chance to take a fast break with the Walsall keeper on the wrong end.

It leaves Roberts with no choice but to foul Tyrell Warren to still the attack and the keeper receives a caution for his cynicism.

    Richard Wilford
    BBC Radio WM commentator

A point here for Walsall would feel like three, with it being so late!

  14. BURTON BEAT TRANMERE ON PENALTIESpublished at 22:00 British Summer Time 19 August

Tranmere 1-1 Burton - Burton win 5-4 on pens

It's all over at Prenton Park as Burton go through to the EFL Cup second round.

Finn Delap with the winning penalty and the Brewers will face fellow League One side Lincoln.

  15. Postpublished at 21:57 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

Walsall's Daniel Cox concedes a free-kick just outside the box.

They are losing time and worse, could see their deficit deepen.

  16. INJURY TIMEpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

There was eight minutes added to the first-half and now there's eight added to the second.

The Bescot cheer. Walsall could still get something from this.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:54 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

Grimsby midfielder George McEachran is handed a yellow card for time wasting.

They want to rob Walsall of as much time as they can.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:53 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

As Richard predicted (21:45), Grimsby skipper Kieran Green is cramping up.

He's been a force tonight but having done so many hard yards, he can't see the game out.

Tyrell Warren is on to see it through.

  19. 'All credit to Stevenage'published at 21:53 British Summer Time 19 August

    FT: Port Vale 1-2 Stevenage

    Mike Baggaley
Port Vale journalist on BBC Radio Stoke

Frustration is the word I would use to describe that game.

I honestly thought Vale had done enough to win it and they had played well in the first half and got a great goal in through Lorent Tolaj.

The second half was pretty even without either side creating much right up until Stevenage scored the equaliser.

It is all credit to Stevenage and that is four wins out of four, but I think Vale will feel it is game they should have taken three points from.

  20. Postpublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 19 August

    Walsall 0-1 Grimsby

Kieran Green cuts a pinpoint pass to Cameron Gardner arriving into the penalty area but the Grimsby substitute gets it all wrong.

He leaves the ball behind and while the visitors try to manoeuvre around, the opportunity to get a two goal cushion is lost.
