Zak Rudden gave the home side a half-time lead after Ryan Duncan played the striker in on goal, but Morton came from behind after the break.
Lamar Reynolds brought the visitors level before Garrity fired home the winner on 76 minutes.
Dougie Imrie's side are sixth and have two games in hand on Queen's who sit three points above them in fifth.
