Man City players are up in arms here.

They are adamant that the ball crossed the line from an Alanna Kennedy header at a corner.

Everton don't hang around, racing up the other end through Toni Payne.

The forward is scythed down by Khiara Keating in the box but the City keeper is saved by the offside flag.

    Everton 2-0 Man City

    Lindsay Johnson
    Ex-England defender on BBC Two

What a good break by Everton. City can not cope with this quick counter from Everton at the moment.

Keating is despondent in goal but it did take a wicked deflection.

Again, where is the defender? Nobody is tight on Hayashi.

    Honoka Hayashi (39 mins)

    It's two!

Melissa Lawley drives down the right and crosses into the path of Honoka Hayashi. She shoots from the edge of the box and a deflection off a defender takes it past Khiara Keating and into the bottom corner.

Well, well, well. Who saw this coming?

  10. Postpublished at 13:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Everton 1-0 Man City

Out of nowhere Toni Payne is in on goal with only Khiara Keating to beat.

She decides to round the keeper but takes the ball far too wide, and her eventual shot is parried and gathered by the City stopper.

  11. 'Everton have looked dangerous'published at 13:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Everton 1-0 Man City

    Lindsay Johnson
    Ex-England defender on BBC Two

Everton have started this game well. Yes, lots of possession from Man City but Everton have looked dangerous with Snoeijs and Toni Payne breaking forwards.

They have made it really difficult for City to play their game.

  12. Postpublished at 13:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Everton 1-0 Man City

Man City won't panic here, there's plenty of time left to go, but like Chelsea yesterday they have looked somewhat devoid of ideas.

79.5% possession so far but it's Everton with 20.5% who have looked far, far more threatening.

  13. Postpublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

Everton come forward again with Melissa Lawley.

She tries to drive the ball into the box for a teammate but it's stopped by a great sliding block from Laia Aleixandri.

  14. 'Not good enough from Kennedy'published at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Everton 1-0 Man City

    Lindsay Johnson
    Ex-England defender on BBC Two

Lucy Hope just on the back shoulder of Alanna Kennedy. They're looking for offside, she's not, it's Justine Vanhaevermaet who is offside. Hope just pulls on the back shoulder of Kennedy, not good enough from Kennedy in my opinion.

What a header in the bottom corner.

Before this game Brian Sorensen said that his side had to be "super sharp" if they were to earn any points.

They have been excellent so far and that goal is well deserved.

GOAL - Everton 1-0 Man Citypublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Lucy Hope (31 mins)

    Everton hit the front!

The hosts do well to recycle play from a corner with Sara Holmgaard whipping in a cross beyond the Man City back line for Lucy Hope to nod home.

What a huge goal that could be.

  18. 'Decision-making let Payne down'published at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

    Everton 0-0 Man City

    Lindsay Johnson

Fantastic play from Toni Payne there. Does Kennedy for speed but then does Aleixandri for speed and power.

It's just that decision-making that has let her down.

  19. Postpublished at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

Toni Payne is proving a great outlet for Everton.

She does well to gather another defensive clearance before playing the ball out to Melissa Lawley to have a run down the wing.

It looks promising but Leila Ouahabi gets back to halt the counter.

  20. Postpublished at 12:55 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December

Toni Payne picks up the ball in her own box and charges from one end of the pitch to the other.

She gets her head up and tries to pick out a teammate but can't execute the pass and the break fizzles out.
