  2. 'Finally, we win at home' - Thelinpublished at 17:55 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Aberdeen 1-0 Kilmarnock

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: "I'm really happy with the way we competed.

"It was a difficult game, we stayed in it and tried in the last part to push for the victory.

"It was not that fluid but we take the three points and can celebrate with the supporters.

"I celebrated maybe a bit too much on the disallowed goal but that's football.

"Finally, we win at home. It was important for us to win a league game at home."

  3. Dundee have 'honest chat' after another defeatpublished at 17:53 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Ross County 3-1 Dundee

Dundee manager Tony Docherty tells BBC Scotland: "Extremely disappointed with the manner of the defeat.

"We should hold on to the opening goal and take advantage of going ahead.

"Ross County were stronger in the first half, and I asked the players for more at half-time. They score an overhead kick in the six yard box and the third goal is symptomatic of what we were - we did not win enough second balls, there is a runner off a midfielder, and the game is beyond you then.

"We need to realise we have put ourselves in a situation only we can get ourselves out of. We've had an honest chat in the dressing room. We need to stick together and realise it means more to win football matches.

"It was going to be a dogfight. It pains me to say it, but Ross County did that better today."

  4. 'We never stopped believing' - Robinsonpublished at 17:51 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Rangers 0-2 St Mirren

A delighted St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "It has been an extension of our last lot of performances. We did really well against Hibs, got the draw. We were the better side against Hearts [in the cup].

"We have never stopped believing. This group of players have raised expectations beyond everyone's imagination. They came here confident today. We showed real quality on the ball. Our press and how aggressive we were was excellent and the players deserve every amount of praise for that.

"Over the last three years, we have raised expectations. Those expectations are not based on massive financial investment. It is a group of players that are battling and improving week-on-week and season-on-season. It is a great result today that will get the headlines.

"It certainly was not [a smash and grab act]. We are not like some teams in the division who sit low and don't come out, which is their prerogative and not a criticism. We try and be aggressive in our press. We have legs and energy in our team.

"We did not feel under any pressure and probably could have had more goals. To say that at Ibrox with the threat they have in their front four, again is a testament to the players.

"Tough times don't last but tough people do. We are a team who have nothing to lose. We have a side capable of challenging for the top six."

  6. Clement 'sorry' for performance 'far below' Rangers standardspublished at 17:42 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Rangers 0-2 St Mirren

Rangers manager Philippe Clement tells BBC Scotland: "We were very nervous from the start of the game on the ball, which created chances for the opponent. We had spells where we were better. But, by far, not good enough for the standards of Rangers.

"It is difficult to explain. Was it that they wanted to do too good, react and give the fans much more? We need to look at the root of the problem. At the end, it is my responsibility to get them with the right mindset on the pitch.

"There was fight. We were not collective enough with our strengths. Everyone wanted to force it too much on their own.

"I can only say sorry and apologise [to the Rangers fans] from me and the team. This is not what Rangers teams need to show on the pitch. We all know this was by far below the standards we all expect."

When asked if he would understand if the Rangers board had a decision to make over his future, Clement replied: "I'm not busy with those questions or those things. I am busy finding solutions to get Rangers back to where they should be."

  7. 'United go back to basics'published at 17:40 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Dundee United 1-0 Motherwell

Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin tells BBC Scotland: "The result was huge today given how the other results have gone.

"It was about getting back to basics, keeping clean sheets, defending well, and I always feel we'll get good chances. With a guy like Sam Dalby given service, nine times out of 10 he'll put the ball in the back of the net.

"I couldn't be any more pleased with the outcome. We know we could have played better, we were very good in the first half and well worthy of the lead. The second half was a little scrappy and Motherwell put us under pressure going into the last 10 minutes."

  8. 'We can work with second-half' performance - Wimmerpublished at 17:36 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Dundee United 1-0 Motherwell

Motherwell manager Michael Wimmer tells BBC Scotland: "We are a little bit disappointed because, in the second-half, we perhaps deserved a point.

"The first half, there were too many thoughts in the minds of the players. We were a little too slow. But it's normal, we worked for three days together with a new formation.

"We can work with the second half, it was really good. It was aggressive, we had opportunities and played forward. That's what we want to see.

"I want to get a picture from the players and I got my first picture, I got better impressions. Training and matchdays are always different."

  9. 'I thought we were worthy of something' - McInnespublished at 17:33 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Aberdeen 1-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "I thought we were good in the game and frustrated them.

"We've had as many shots and shots on target, it was pretty even in both boxes.

"In Scottish football, a lot of the time set-plays have a lot of results and that's what happened.

"I thought we were worthy of something but ultimately we've come away with nothing. We are disappointed but we can't dwell on that disappointment too much.

"You always felt that 1-0 would be the result today, unfortunately we were on the wrong end of it.

"I was kind of hoping that both Rangers and Celtic would both win as that would keep up closer to the teams above us but you've got to take care of the your own business first."

  10. Cowie savours 'fantastic win'published at 17:31 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Ross County 3-1 Dundee

Ross County manager Don Cowie tells BBC Radio Scotland: "It was an excellent team performance.

"I was most pleased with the way we responded to going behind, we were not spooked by it and deservedly got back in the game at 1-1.

"We came out the traps flying after half-time and scored two goals.

"A fantastic win, and it keeps the momentum going."

If I was Philippe Clement, I'd be worried because some of the players looked like they'd chucked it.

  12. 'The linesman didn't think it was out'published at 17:22 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Hibernian 2-1 Celtic

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers told BBC Scotland: "I felt we deserved something from the game.

"We didn't start the game well, clearly. They get the goal early - that gets the team and crowd up. We were a little bit rushed in the first half, just tried to force it and then concede a disappointing goal right on half-time.

"The players were excellent second half, forced the game, put a lot of pressure on and get the goal.

"Then there's the talking point. I was very disappointed we didn't get that especially when the linesman didn't think it was out. He probably has the best view in the whole stadium.

"I don't know how you can tell the ball is definitely out from an image from the 18-yard line. We need to see evidence the ball was out. If you don't have that, you're having a guess.

"Congratulations to Hibs, they defended the box well and our decision-making wasn't quite there. We got punished for our first-half performance."

  13. 'Win keeps feel-good factor going'published at 17:18 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    FT: Hibernian 2-1 Celtic

Hibernian head coach David Gray told BBC Scotland: "I'm delighted for the players. I challenged them before the game saying every one of them needs to be at the top of their game and I got that from every single player. I thought we fully deserved it.

"We started the game really positively, nice and aggressive in our press and we took our chances.

"I've always believed in Josh Campbell. His strengths are his running power and his ability to arrive in the box. The shape of the team helps him showcase his talent.

"Your mentality and character is always going to be tested when Celtic get that goal. Can you find a way to hold out? They are always going to keep pushing.

"I've not seen it back [Celtic's disallowed effort] but I believe it's fractionally out so I'm delighted the pitch is the size that it is.

"We're trying to accumulate as many points as we can before the split, and it's still about catching the team in front of us. It keeps that run going, the feel-good factor going - a massive three points."

    FT: Dundee United 1-0 Motherwell

The Michael Wimmer era did not get off to a great start and there will be much to ponder for the new Motherwell boss.

Although the visitors offered more in the second half, there was a lack of cutting edge, and that's been a familiar story for a lot of this season.

Dundee United should probably have scored more than one but Sam Dalby's excellent first half header was enough to give them a much needed win, ending a run of four straight defeats.
