Dagenham boosted their National League survival hopes with a win over fellow strugglers Maidenhead at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The home side created an early chance when Marcus Wyllie got onto the end of a long-ball from captain Josh Rees, but his shot was straight at Maidenhead keeper Craig Ross.

Maidenhead threatened on the half-hour when Will de Havilland flicked a looping ball on to Shawn McCoulsky, but his effort was too close to Daggers stopper Jake Turner.

Dagenham made the crucial breakthrough in the 54th minute when Rees headed in Ryan Hill's free-kick at the back post.

Rees saw another goal ruled out for offside before Maidenhead defender Thierry Latty-Fairweather had an effort cleared off the line.
