Hibs win two early corners through the persistence of Martin Boyle. It feels like a long time ago that he left Dens for Easter Road, in a swap deal with Alex Harris.
Both come to naught, but Dundee are on the back foot early.

Centre-half Iurie Iovu has to hack clear from inside the United six-yard box then goalkeeper Yevhen Kucherenko does well to punch clear.
But United are quickly up the other end and goalscorer Max Watters fires a low drive that is easily held by goalkeeper Scott Bain at his near post.

It’s fair to say there is much more expectation coming from the visiting support than those of a Dundee persuasion.
The failure to qualify for the knockout stages of the League Cup was a real blow for new head coach Steven Pressley and he openly admits they are badly in need of new recruits to come in and help those already at the club.
Meanwhile, although they ultimately lost out to Midtjylland on Thursday, there was much to praise in terms of Hibs' performance. By and large, this is the same team that finished third last season, so they will be looking to continue the progress made.

The goal comes from something Falkirk do well - the run in behind from Sibbald.
Dundee United were getting in behind Falkirk too easily.
Even though you felt Falkirk were the better team, I think Dundee United were more likely to score - no surprise to me they took the lead.
Camara has been brilliant - he seems really mobile in midfield.

Hibs head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "I was quick to remind the players about the level of performance we put in over both legs [against Midtjylland]. It was a high standard.
"There was disappointment in how we lost the game, that was a blow to the players. But I reminded them that this is what it's all about - league football.
"A few players played significant minutes, but the subs that came on also did. It is only one game into the season, we're not five or six games down the line when we need to rotate.
"The expectation of the football club is rising all the time. We can't rest on the fact we did well last season. There's a lot of new managers, new players, the challenge is to keep improving. We can't believe the hype."

United are spoiling Falkirk's flag day so far.
The Bairns started at breakneck speed, determined to make a winning start to their top-flight return.
But United worked their way into the game and Max Watters' fine volleyed finish gives the visitors the lead at the break.

It's an absolutely brilliant finish into the top corner from Watters.
Although Falkirk have been the better team, it's no surprise Dundee United scored from their play over the last 15 minutes.

His low cross is stabbed clear by centre-half Liam Henderson, but it only falls to Max Watters eight yards out and the on-loan Barnsley striker volleys home.

The visitors probably expected the Bairns to be buoyed by the raising of the Championship flag but are taking the sting out of the game.

Dundee head coach Steven Pressley tells BBC Scotland: "It's an enormous blow [that Simon Murray is injured]. Virtually every goal from last season has come out of the squad with Simon's absence.
"That shows you the enormity of the challenge in front of us, but we'll embrace that. It's a very difficult opening fixture against a team that are up to speed, have played some high-profile games so far, but we're looking forward to it.
"It's been hugely challenging [so far], I've not hid from that fact. We are still six players away from getting our squad together. We've got a lot of recruitment over the next four weeks to complete.
"The current group of players have been hugely receptive and worked very hard, but they also need support. Hopefully we can get them that support."

Kieron Bowie scored both goals for Hibernian on Sunday
Hibernian "answered a lot of questions" after bouncing back from their midweek Midtyjlland heartbreak to pick up three points on the opening weekend of the Scottish Premiership with a controlled victory at Dundee.
David Gray's side took the Danish outfit to extra time in Europa League qualifying on Thursday, only succumbing to a 119th-minute overhead kick. But they responded well to that disappointment at Dens.
Kieron Bowie scored with the first shot of the game, albeit it took until the 28th minute to come. Reacting quickest to a loose ball in the box, the youngster lashed low into the bottom corner.
Three minutes later, the Scotland striker had a second. Jordan Obita's shot was saved by Jon McCracken in the Dundee goal, but the ball sat kindly for Bowie to roll into an empty net from 10 yards.
It looked like Hibs were going to cruise it from there, as Steven Pressley - a manager under pressure already given Dundee's meek exit from the Premier Sports Cup group stages - watched on, frantically scribbling in his notebook.
He couldn't have masterminded Dundee's goal, which came from a Hibs slip up.
Jack Iredale lost his footing at the back, allowing Ashley Hay to nip into the box and cut back for Fin Robertson to sweep home.
Although that gave the hosts a lifeline, it always looked more likely that Hibs would score a third.
They should have had it, when Josh Campbell was picked out at the back post from a corner. Totally unmarked, four yards out, his header was straight at the keeper.
"It's all you can ask for, especially after the emotions of Thursday and everything the players put into that," Gray said.
"Everyone is looking at Hibs, how are we going to start the season? I think we answered a lot of questions today."

Not many would have backed Dundee before kick-off. After hearing Pressley's pre-match comments, they wouldn't have changed their minds.

"The current group of players have been hugely receptive and worked very hard, but they also need support. Hopefully we can get them that support."
Pressley went on to talk about how the plans he had when appointed have been changed and ripped up, given his current squad's strengths.
It was far from inspiring and smacked of a manager who had, perhaps, misunderstood the depth of the challenge and the gravity of the situation.
While his honesty is admirable, Dundee fans won't want to hear it. They've stumbled and fallen out of the blocks in this campaign, still flat on their face as others around them race ahead.
The mood music is already gloomy and ominous.
Bowie. The Hibs striker took his two goals well and on another day, might have had a hat-trick.
Now capped by Scotland, there is a belief among some observers that he could go on to fill the number nine shirt for the national team.
It's a position where the country has very little depth. Bowie has the physicality and the technique. He has bounced back from a bad injury and, given a clear run this season, could keep forcing his way into national squads.
Dundee had just two shots throughout the entire game, compared to Hibs' 15.
Hibs also made double the number passes - 662 as compared to 316).
Hibs Josh Campbell had more shots than any other player, despite only coming on in the 56th minute.
Ryan Astley won 10 of his 12 duels in the Dundee defence, more than any other player.
Dundee head coach Steven Pressley: "We worked very hard. We did some good things defensively. We had a good shape around us. Gave away two disappointing goals in a time where I felt we'd settled into the game quite nicely.
"The big frustration was in possession we didn't show the belief, we turned the ball over unopposed at times when we could have made better choices."
Hibernian head coach David Gray: "It was a real professional performance. The mentality and the character of the players was there for everyone to see.
"We responded in the best possible way."
It doesn't get any easier for Dundee - they travel to Ibrox to face Rangers next Saturday (17:45).
Hibs are back in European action on Thursday in Conference League qualifying, away to Serbian side Partizan Belgrade (20:00).

Dundee have only lost one of their last five Scottish Premiership home games against Hibernian (W2 D2), suffering a 2-1 defeat in November 2023.
Hibernian have suffered only two defeats in their last 18 top-flight meetings with Dundee (W9 D7), although both came away from home (3-1 in May 2022, 4-1 in November 2024).
Dundee are winless in their opening match in each of their last five Scottish Premiership seasons (D3 L2) since beating Ross County 3-1 in 2016-17.
After winning six successive MD1 games in the Scottish Premiership from 2017-18 to 2022-23, Hibernian have since lost both of their last two season openers (both v St. Mirren – 2-3 in 2023-24, 0-3 in 2024-25).
