New Crawley boss Rob Elliot will not like what he has seen so far. He is not in the dugout tonight but has watched League One's leading scorer Lee Gregory swivel in his sixth goal of the season for Mansfield.

Nottingham Forest loanee Dale Taylor has his first goal for Wigan. A smart header at the near post. His previous goal came in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy final against Posh earlier this year while he was at Wycombe.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:04 British Summer Time 1 October

    Stevenage 1-0 Wrexham

Eli King curls in a free-kick for Stevenage and Nathan Thompson swoops in at the back post completely unmarked.

But he's unable to make contact from just two yards out... any touch and that was in.

A real let-off for Wrexham who could easily have been two down already.

Rotherham were lining up to take a fifth-minute corner when referee Darren Drysdale paused the match because of a spectator in the crowd suffering a medical emergency.

The Millers and Cambridge players headed to the touchline, but within three minutes the action was back under way. Hopefully the fan is fine and we send them our best wishes.

Meanwhile, John McAtee scored the first League One goal of the evening to give Bolton the lead at Northampton. Szabolcs Schon slid the ball across the box for McAtee to score for the second game in a row.

    Doncaster 0-0 Barrow

Both teams suffer a nervous start as neither side is able to keep the ball at their feet.

Shrugging off some midweek sluggishness perhaps?

Will October bring either Burton or rooted-to-the-bottom Cambridge their first league wins of the campaign tonight?

The U's go up against a manager in Steve Evans they have never beaten and an opponent - in Rotherham - they have lost their past three meetings against.

Albion are not looking too hot either, with a 3-0 defeat by Blackpool at the weekend to bounce back from. They travel to Reading in a 20:00 BST kick-off.

Bristol Rovers are definitely happy for a new month as they take on Charlton. They lost all four of their matches in September - including a 96th-minute loss to Wycombe on Saturday - with the pressure beginning to build on Matt Taylor.

Crawley, who have gone five games without a win, have a new manager. But former Gateshead boss Rob Elliot will not be in the dugout against Mansfield after signing a two-and-a-half-year deal today.

    Birmingham v Huddersfield (19:45 BST)

The form of these two sides coming into this one could not be more different.

League One leaders Birmingham are unbeaten so far this season in the league and have won six consecutive matches in the third tier.

By contrast, Huddersfield's strong start to the campaign has faltered and they have now lost three in a row - and four of their past five.

It does not get any easier for the Terriers tonight against a Blues side they have only beaten twice in their past eight attempts.

Birmingham were 4-1 winners in this fixture last season when both were in the Championship, with the return game ending in a 1-1 draw.

The visitors will also have to try to overcome a tough opponent without first-choice goalkeeper Lee Nicholls and defender Michal Helik, who were both ruled out with lengthy injuries this week.

    Blackpool v Lincoln (19:45 BST)

Blackpool head coach Steve Bruce applaudsImage source, Getty Images

What an impact Steve Bruce has made since arriving at Bloomfield Road exactly four weeks ago today.

Blackpool have won four League One games in a row, lifting themselves from 22nd to fourth, and will be aiming for a fifth victory on the bounce.

Their opponents will provide a stern test, though, and are the highest-placed team in the league that Blackpool have faced since Bruce took over.

Lincoln are unbeaten in five and level on points with the Tangerines, but sit one place higher thanks to their superior goal difference,

Michael Skubala's side will be keen to put an end to Blackpool's "new manager bounce" against a side they have beaten in three of their past five meetings.

  19. A first time for everythingpublished at 19:33 British Summer Time 1 October

    Stevenage v Wrexham (19:45 BST)

Tonight is the first time Stevenage and Wrexham have ever met in the English Football League.

In fact, the sides have only played each other once before and that was in the FA Cup second round back in November 2006, when Wrexham ran out 1-0 winners.

Things have changed somewhat since then for the Welsh club, who are now pushing for a third consecutive promotion under their superstar owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

It has been an inconsistent start to the season for Stevenage, who sit 11th but remain in touching distance of the play-off spots.

Summer signing Dan Kemp is yet to get off the mark for his new club but might fancy his chances this evening, having scored three and made one assist in his previous three EFL appearances against Wrexham.

Notts County have fallen slightly away from the sides making the running at the top of League Two.

The loss to table-toppers Gillingham was excusable, but dropping points to winless Morecambe at the weekend was less than ideal.

They travel to third-from-bottom Carlisle tonight with atonement, and potentially second place, in mind. But they will have to keep Charlie Wyke quiet - he has netted in his past two meetings against County.

Derek Adams' Shrimps are on a three-draw streak, which has taken them off the foot of the table. A 0-0 with Bradford this evening is almost fated to complete a 3-3, 2-2 and 1-1 series of successive results.

And Michael Flynn only has one hope for Cheltenham's fixture with bottom club Accrington - that it does not replicate Saturday's 2-0 defeat by Fleetwood.

"I hope I never have to watch something like that again," said Flynn after his players were booed off.
