We have quite the treat for you tonight, League Two fans.

It will be an EFL first as Fleetwood Town host Salford City for the debut match between the two sides. No weight of history to speak of, just a blank slate ready for someone to make their very first mark.

Karl Robinson's Ammies will be the more confident, unbeaten in three league games with a two point cushion ahead of the Cods on the table.

On the other side of the pitch will be Charlie Adam's Fleetwood side who are winless in four and desperate to keep in touching distance of the top end in a league that has proven itself to be wildly unpredictable this season.

No matter what, this one is a history maker and that's bound to taste all the sweeter for whoever can make their names stand out under the midweek lights.

  2. Imps aiming to bring Cobblers to heelpublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October

    Lincoln v Northampton (19:45 GMT)

When you're in a division featuring clubs owned by NFL and Hollywood stars it can be easy to slip under the radar although Lincoln and Northampton probably like it that way - let everyone else take the limelight while you go about your own work quietly.

The Imps coughed-up the chance of a play-off place on the final day of last season where a win over already promoted Portsmouth would have got them into the end-of-season bun fight but a 2-0 home defeat means they'll have to do it all again and they're making a decent job of it so far.

Saturday's win over Stockport ended a wobble which had seen Michael Skubala's side lose their previous two.

A win would take Lincoln into the top six and only Birmingham and Barnsley have come away from Sincil Bank with three points this season, so Northampton will join an exclusive club if they can get the win tonight.

The Cobblers are unbeaten in their last three EFL games but their only win on the road came at Huddersfield back in September.

Jon Brady's team have a huge FA Cup derby against Kettering coming up this weekend while Lincoln have a tricky looking one at Chesham to tackle but it's very much eyes on the prize of league points this evening.

  3. Evatt returns for trip to struggling Stevenagepublished at 19:23 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October

Bolton boss Ian Evatt will be back in the dugout this evening having served his three-match touchline ban and, if the recent numbers are anything to go by, he's picked a good one to come back to.

The Trotters won two of their Evatt-less matches with their one loss at St Andrew's against league leaders Birmingham, while Stevenage are showing signs of a struggle.

They only have one win, in which they mustered up just the single goal, to their three losses in their past four league games.

Add to that Boro's record against Bolton - winless in their past four league encounters with three defeats.

The odds seem stacked against Stevenage but they can still put a dampener on Evatt's return if they play their cards right.

  4. County and Royals bringing back the good times?published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October

    Stockport v Reading (19:45 GMT)

England's wonderful football pyramid rewards success and punishes failure - just ask Stockport and Reading who've both experienced the jeopardy and joy of the league system in this country.

This is the first league meeting between these two clubs since March 1998 in what we now know as the Championship - for the record Stockport won 5-1.

Since that day County have been as low as the National North and been forced to go part-time. Meanwhile, Reading have twice been promoted to the Premier League and spent three seasons feasting at the top table.

Since then the Royals have been beaten in a Championship play-off final by Huddersfield but now find themselves playing a second season in League One.

With the background of ongoing ownership issues, manager Ruben Selles has fashioned a side which has won five and lost just one of their last six EFL matches to move into the top six.

The Welsh duo of Charlie Savage and Chem Campbell have been key in their good run and keep an eye out for Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan who seems to be at the heart of everything which is good about Reading at the moment.

Stockport's Dave Challinor went for athleticism in the summer transfer window by snagging Jayden Fevrier and Jay Mingi from Colchester and took goalkeeper Corey Addai from League Two play-off winners Crawley.

In Aston Villa loanee Louie Barry he has a goalscorer bang in form having hit eight in all competitions.

This will be a good test for two sides who want to be at the top end come May.

Have we all recovered from the own goal fiasco that saw Wigan score all four goals in their 2-2 barmy battle with Blackpool last night? No?

Well, buckle up because we've got four more games from the third and fourth tier to keep us on the edge of our seats.

League One have three matches on offer to entertain our Tuesday night blues away while Fleetwood Town and Salford City, well they play their first match EVER in the EFL in our only League Two game of the night.

Not to tempt fate Cods and Ammies fans but each of the last three days saw a team from one of each of the top three divisions of English football claw back a draw from a two-goal deficit - Wolves on Saturday, Norwich on Sunday and Blackpool on Monday.

There's no way League Two would hop on the trend now, would they?
