Daniel: What did you make of Jurgen Klopp's post-match behaviour? I'm sure he was disappointed to lose, but he seems to have an unfortunate habit of berating the press when he doesn't get the result.

Phil McNulty: Hello, Daniel. In his traditional post-match media press conference he was absolutely fine and very gracious, congratulating Manchester United and Erik ten Hag. I didn’t see it at the time but gather he was annoyed at some questions from the foreign media – which they were perfectly entitled to ask I should stress and they seemed fine to me when I just watched the clip - but I suppose he was bound to be feeling a bit sore after the loss. We have seen before that great managers can tend to be sore losers on occasions. It’s because they are great managers and hate losing.

Fair play Harry. I'd have thought you might have been a little miffed given the outcome.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp clearly wasn't overly pleased and was involved in an unseemly incident, external while conducting a post-match interview with a Scandinavian broadcaster.

The Liverpool manager took offence at a question about his side's intensity from Danish V Sports commentator Niels Christian Frederiksen, calling it "stupid."

Klopp added he was "really disappointed" with the question having pointed out the quantity of matches Liverpool have played recently and told the reporter he was "obviously not in great shape" before continuing the exchange as he walked off.

    Over in the Liverpool corner...

Sonny:Now that's what you call a sickener of a result. There goes the quadruple. We just let the game pass us by in the last 30 minutes and the attack didn't click. Some good individual performances but Nunez struggled and, despite his goal, Elliott was the death of us. Next time we play them we will have Trent back and you know what they say: 'Trenty is plenty!'

Richard: I could see this happening. I don't like the way we play when ahead. We were playing like we were three or four goals in front. Too casual, too cocky, and we paid for it. It annoyed me on Thursday playing like that. Okay, we were never in danger, but ask any Manchester City fan about being ruthless. We're not sometimes and it costs.

Harry: What an incredible game! Evenly contested but Manchester United victorious in the end. Liverpool dominated the second half but unfortunately threw away their chances. Both teams played superbly and Manchester United deserve credit for their comeback. Fair play. Keep your chin up, Liverpool.

Michael: Apart from the first 10 minutes, and then the last 10 minutes of the game, Liverpool dominated this match. They should've won by a canter with their second-half dominance. Manchester United often looked inept and how Liverpool failed to be at least two goals ahead before normal time finished was unreal. On to the treble and good luck to Coventry in the next round.

Here's what some Manchester United fans think of yesterday...

Randolph: A deserved win against Liverpool. The season full of injuries, but full of promise. Erik ten Hag is the right person for the job. Sir Alex Ferguson also had a bouncy start to his career at this club. It's always easy for the pundits to criticise - they all seem to forget that they also lost games and didn't always perform as they should've done.

Rod:Wow! I never thought we would win this, especially with the way we usually allow teams the space and possession to take advantage of our really soft underbelly. However, we showed spirit and the 'never say die' belief of old. Lo and behold, the FA Cup gods gave us the nod and we won! Come on United!

Mike:Manchester United were not great. We could and should have lost. We got through as Liverpool didn’t try to manage the game. They made a mistake for the third and left nobody back for the fourth. Keep the feet on the ground.

Ali:Much improved all round. McTominay inspired the team as he kept driving himself, and the team, at Liverpool. He has some engine in him. I hope he's not on the infamous transfer out list. He's a winner, he never gives in. Most of the players kept fighting. That Manchester United 'no surrender' reappeared. Rashford looked better. Well done, boys.

Chelsea reach FA Cup semis with late goal against Leicester

Mauricio Pochettino said Chelsea supporters do not need to trust him, but should "trust the club" after being on the receiving end of negative chants during the victory over Leicester in the FA Cup.

The home supporters booed the decision to substitute Mykhailo Mudryk instead of forward Raheem Sterling in the 78th minute, with some fans chanting "you don't know what you're doing".

Sterling had missed a penalty and another good chance in the first half, then blazed a free-kick wildly over in the second before Chelsea went on to win 4-2 and reach the semi-finals.

"We need to accept the situation," Pochettino said of the fans' criticism.

"It's like when I try to explain the situation of the squad, maybe I need to explain also [to] the fans. We need to accept it.

"That does not mean we agree or not agree but we need to accept."

Liam Harris: Why did it take almost six minutes to decide whether it was a handball or not at West Ham? If it was clear and obvious then it should take 30 seconds. Although I agree that the decision was correct, the time was an insult to the game.

Phil McNulty: Hello Liam. Please don’t make me get on my soapbox this early! I am pretty much done with VAR in the manner it is used in this country, where there is so much interference in games and we get delays like we had at West Ham. Also, as a fan experience it is awful as no-one knows what is going on and we have these interminable delays.

Whatever happened to clear and obvious? It almost seems like we are trying to find ways to disallow goals these days and much of the joy is being sucked out of the game for players and, most importantly, fans.

Until the system is utilised better I would be happy just to see semi-automated offside and goal-line technology.

Coventry City celebrateImage source, Getty Images

Gavin Underwood: With Coventry City reaching the semi-final, is the magic of the FA cup finally back?

Phil McNulty: Morning Gavin. The magic of the FA Cup has never left for me but I certainly understand why people might think it had.

The Coventry City story is fantastic and if anyone ever doubts what the FA Cup can do or what it means, just look at the faces of those fans when the winner went in at Molineux.

Manchester United have won the FA Cup many times but have a look at those celebrations at Old Trafford yesterday.

I still wish the semi-finals were not held at Wembley but I bet not many Coventry City fans share that opinion this morning.

Kylian Mbappe scored a superb hat-trick as Paris St-Germain thrashed Montpellier on Sunday to move 12 points clear in Ligue 1.

Vitinha opened the scoring before Mbappe swept home his first from a tight angle.

Arnaud Nordin scored for the hosts and Teji Savanier drew them level.

However, France striker Mbappe scored a worldie in the 50th-minute, with a 25-yard strike that flew in off the crossbar and he finished his third from close range while Lee Kang-in and Nuno Mendes were also on the on target for PSG.

Mbappe now has 24 league goals for the season after scoring his third hat-trick of the campaign.

Amad Diallo and AntonyImage source, Getty Images

Lubulwa Sharif: How does Antony's performance yesterday change people's perception as well the future of Erik ten Hag as a manager?

Phil McNulty: Hi Lubuwala, I think it will need more than one match-changing performance as a substitute for perceptions to change about Antony. Let’s be honest, that £80m fee has always looked ludicrously inflated.

What we can say, however, is that he looked very lively when he came on, scored a crucial late equaliser in normal time and worked tirelessly in a chaotic period of extra-time.

Antony now needs to show he can do it time and again.

As for Erik ten Hag, his future is still the subject of debate but Manchester United showing such spirit and character before a classic Old Trafford finish (particularly against Liverpool) is certainly not going to do him any harm.

This has to be a platform now. They can’t just produce it for one game then slip back into bad old ways.

Being a Palace living up north has seen me go to more than my fair of extreme lengths to see them play, with the most recent being the 5-0 loss to Arsenal. But the most memorable one with the most miles travelled has to be beating Watford in the 2013 play-off final at Wembley.
