Falkirk continued their superb start to the season with their first win at East End Park in five years against Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship.
Ross MacIver slotted in after six minutes following fantastic work from Keelan Adams.
John McGlynn's promoted visitors would not wrap up victory until the final five minutes of play.
Kane Ritchie-Hosler, who was a decent on a disappointing afternoon for the Pars, clattered into MacIver and referee Matthew McDiarmid had an easy decision to point to the spot.
Callumn Morrison duly stepped up, with his penalty prompting bedlam in the packed East Stand as it ensured Dunfermline’s winless run would stretch to five.
James McPake’s side lacked a spark up top and their five-game unbeaten run against Falkirk ended with a bit of a whimper.
Meanwhile, the Bairns are one of only two teams with maximum points from two games.
What they said
Dunfermline Athletic manager James McPake: "First half, Falkirk were the better side by a far stretch. It evened up a little bit and for a while in the second half we looked the more threatening team and on course to get the equaliser.
"It's disappointing, but I can't ask anything more of my players. This game is a big game, so credit to Falkirk off the back of a very successful League 1 season... we know what that feels like."
Falkirk manager John McGlynn: "If you're not happy when you win, you're as well chucking it. We're ecstatic because it's not easy coming here, despite Dunfermline's struggles.
"It was scrappy at times, but a derby game will be scrappy at times. We settled down well after the early goal and controlled the game."
