  1. Goodwin wants to 'finish busy week on a positive note'published at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Hibernian v Dundee United (15:00)

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin tells Sportsound: "We're trying to build up minutes for Ryan Strain. [Kristijan] Trapanvoski isn't long back from a hamstring strain so three games in a week would be a demand for him.

"[Hibs] are a team with real quality, with [Martin] Boyle and [Joe] Newell and [Nectarios] Triantis. They've got players in areas that could hurt us.

"We're delighted with the start. I'm not taking too much notice of the league table. This week has been a real stretch for the squad. Given the injuries we've got, it's been a big ask.

"It'd be great to finish the week on a positive note."

  2. Hibs 'need to pick up points'published at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November

    Hibernian v Dundee United (15:00)

Hibernian head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "We build on a clean sheet [against Ross County]. We know where we needed to be a bit better in terms of a bit more attacking intent and hopefully we can see that today.

"We know we need to pick up points. We need more points on the board. Three points today takes us up the table slightly and more in touch with the teams slightly above us.

"We know everything about [Dundee United]. They know a lot about us and it's about who turns up today and hopefully we can start the game really positively and really impose ourselves on them."

Dundee and Kilmarnock have served up some really thrilling encounters of late, so don’t be surprised if this latest edition of the fixture produces something similar.

Four of the five games between the teams last term were scoring draws.

This season, Killie were 3-2 winners at Dens Park last month – that was an incredible game, the visitors were 2-0 down with 10 minutes to go before sensationally turning things around.

Both teams are taking contrasting form into this game - after impressing on their return to the top division last season, Dundee have found the going a lot tougher this time round. In fact, they have won just one of their past eight Scottish Premiership games, so it is unsurprising they find themselves struggling at the wrong end of the table.

However, Tony Docherty still believes he has enough talent in his squad to get things moving in the right direction again - a process he will be hoping starts today.

Kilmarnock travel to the City of Discovery in fine fettle – they have lost just one of their past seven league games, winning three of the past four in a run that includes a fine win at Hearts last time out.

So, Derek McInnes will be confident his side can keep that momentum going by getting a positive result against the Dark Blues this afternoon.
