Barrow recorded their first away win of the season with an impressive 2-0 victory at Colchester.
The Cumbrian side took a ninth-minute lead when Tom Barkhuizen escaped down the right and crossed for Jack Earing to score at the second attempt, after Colchester goalkeeper Matt Macey had saved his first effort.
Samson Tovide was denied by Barrow goalkeeper Wyll Stanway and Arthur Read's strike went wide of the target, while Jack Payne showed brilliant footwork in the box before firing a shot over the Barrow bar.
On the stroke of half-time, Barrow defender Charlie Raglan was fortunate to escape with a booking after a heavy challenge on Tovide which left the U's striker nursing a knee injury.
Owura Edwards blazed a good chance over from a decent position for Colchester just before the hour.
Barrow sealed their win in the 72nd minute when Lewis Shipley beat Macey in the air to head home, after Raglan had helped the ball into his path from Regan Booty's free-kick into the box.
