  1. Kudus or Madueke? Which is the best deal?published at 09:28 British Summer Time

It's not every day you get players switching between London clubs in the Premier League.

Although Arsenal have made a habit of signing Chelsea players of late, more on that later.

But today we are talking about two potential deals:

    • West Ham's Mohammed Kudus to Spurs for £55m
    • Chelsea's Noni Madueke to Arsenal for a fee in the region of £50m

The question is, which buying club would be getting the better deal?

Use the thumbs up for Tottenham's Kudus swoop or thumbs down for Arsenal's Madueke move.

PS: We would have included Newcastle's £55m bid for Nottingham Forest's Anthony Elanga but don't have enough thumbs!

Tottenham are also exploring a move for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.

BBC Sport understands Brentford have been made aware of their London rivals' interest in the 28-year-old, in a deal that could reunite the forward with his former manager Thomas Frank, now in charge at Spurs.

Sources have indicated that Wissa is open to a move across the capital.

The DR Congo international has courted major interest from Premier League clubs in recent months, with Nottingham Forest failing to sign him in January.

But Spurs now have an interest in the former Lorient player, who scored 20 goals last season.

Wissa's current deal expires next summer - but there is an option to extend it by a further year.

  3. Arsenal make formal approach for Chelsea's Maduekepublished at 09:14 British Summer Time

Arsenal have made formal contact with Chelsea over signing winger Noni Madueke.

BBC Sport reported that the Gunners had already agreed personal terms with Madueke last week, ahead of any potential move, but they have now made an official approach.

It is understood Chelsea are looking for a fee in the region of £50m for the 23-year-old England international.

Madueke is currently playing at the Club World Cup and came on as a substitute as the Blues reached the final of the competition, beating Brazilian side Fluminense 2-0.

The wideman has played 92 times for Chelsea since joining them from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and has scored 20 goals.

There seems to be a handful of deals being made in the Premier League this summer at or around the £55m mark.

Remember, Newcastle agreed a £55m fee with Nottingham Forest for their Sweden winger Anthony Elanga earlier this week.

BBC Sport's Alex Howell has also reported that Arsenal have made an official approach for Chelsea's England winger Noni Madueke, thought to be around £50m.

More on that story coming up...

  5. Tottenham agree £55m fee for West Ham's Kuduspublished at 09:05 British Summer Time

    Sami Mokbel
    BBC Sport Senior football correspondent

Tottenham have agreed a £55m fee with West Ham to sign midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

The Ghana international is now set to have a medical before signing a long-term contract.

BBC Sport reported on Saturday that the Hammers had rejected an initial £50m but a deal has now been clinched.

Kudus, who has an £85m release clause, joined West Ham in a £38m deal from Ajax in 2023. He has made 65 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists.

At least six top clubs have enquired about Kudus in recent weeks but well-placed sources told BBC Sport the 24-year-old had prioritised a move to Spurs.

Kudus has had a terrible season but there’s no doubt he’s talented and could do well elsewhere. Hopefully we spend the money wisely on some pace in midfield.

  8. Early moves making supporters nervous?published at 08:53 British Summer Time

West Ham fans may be feeling frustrated, but of course there is more than six weeks remaining in the summer transfer window.

The Club World Cup has skewed the window somewhat, with competing clubs Chelsea and Manchester City making their moves early to get new players registered in time for that.

Champions Liverpool have also made an early power move, while Arsenal's recruitment drive is gathering pace and promoted clubs Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland have been busy recalibrating their squads to give them a fighting chance in the top flight.

That has left fans of clubs like West Ham, who finished 14th in the Premier League last season, a little nervous at their apparent lack of activity.

Spurs supporters could easily fall into that bracket, with the club taking its time in the market following the appointment of new manager Thomas Frank.

And while Mohammed Kudus would be Tottenham's fourth summer signing (if you include Mathys Tel and Kevin Danso), he would represent a first significant move since Frank's arrival...

Right, we are going to delve deeper into those headlines now, starting with the news that Tottenham have agreed a £55m fee with West Ham to sign their Ghana forward Mohammed Kudus.

It's a major signing for Spurs but, for West Ham, their losing a player who can change games. So how much of a loss is it, Hammers fans? And where does it leave your prospects for the new season?

Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo signed a permanent deal at the start of July after spending last season on loan, but so far there have been no new faces at London Stadium.

West Ham fans, we want to hear from you this morning.

And supporters of any club sharing their frustration at a lack of summer signings (Fulham, Palace and Forest fans?) can get in touch via WhatsApp or text using the contact details above.

    Thanks.

  10. Wednesday's done deals - Barry & Talbipublished at 08:35 British Summer Time

There were two signings made on Wednesday.

As in the round-up, Everton completed a £27m move for France Under-21s striker Thierno Barry, who has signed a four-year contract.

The Toffees swooped for the 22-year-old forward following his breakthrough season in La Liga.

Barry scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 38 games as the Spanish club finished fifth in La Liga to qualify for the Champions League

Sunderland also unveiled a new player - Morocco winger Chemsdine Talbi - who looks to have bags of potential.

The 20-year-old signed from Belgian side Club Brugge in a deal that could eventually be worth £20.5m, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract.

Talbi has bags of pace and scored seven goals and provided five assists across 44 appearances in the Belgian top-flight. He also bagged two goals in 11 appearances in the Champions League
