  1. Sutton's predictions: Bournemouth v Fulhampublished at 09:41 BST 14 April

    Sutton's predictions graphic

I watched Bournemouth against West Ham last week and they deserved to beat them, so I don't think their form is as bad as their run of two points from their past six games suggests.

Fulham, meanwhile, took the scalp of mighty Liverpool to underline how capable they are - but they seem to lack the consistency they will need to really push for the Champions League places from here.

Let's face it, though, I find both of these teams very hard to predict.

Whichever way I go with this one, the opposite will happen - so I am going to hedge my bets and go for a draw.

I was going to go for it to finish 2-2 because both teams have got a lot about them going forward, but my daughter, Sophia, says it will be 1-1. If I lose this week because of this game, then it is her fault.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-1

  2. Semi-automated offsides a 'step in right direction' but take 'with a pinch of salt'published at 11:07 BST 12 April

There are lots of different perspectives in terms of how you watch a game of football, and I think for the majority of time the people in the stadium get the best atmosphere, but the worst views of how a game has actually gone.

You don't really get the chance to see multiple replays and have discussions about things, because you just get caught up in the moment.

With the incoming semi automated offsides, they did promise it earlier in the season - but I think the caveat was they're only going to do it when it's ready.

It is a positive that they didn't do it when it wasn't ready.

One upside to to the new technology is some of the arguments disappear. Previously you could say 'but it looks like it's this to me' or 'it looks like it's that to me'. When it is presented now, there aren't many people that will then be looking at the animation, going back to the video, and then going down a proper conspiracy rabbit hole.

So, it ends more arguments, not all arguments, but more arguments.

I think people, as a consequence, will be more accepting of it.

But, I still do believe that there's things for people to understand, because it can't be used in every situation. There are certain decisions which can still be a little bit more complex, and there's certain times where human intervention will still need to be brought in.

I wouldn't say it's as clear as, say, goal line technology, but it's a step in the direction to where most people feel more comfortable accepting the outcome and the speed of it as well will be encouraged.

It's not to say that it's going to be instant. If you believe this is going to be perfect, and always extremely fast, ask yourself, why do you think that?

Unless somebody has told you that from PGMOL, then take it with a pinch of salt and you see how it goes.

I think it's something that many people have seen before so hopefully there will be fewer arguments.

But, because it's football, there'll always be something to argue about the end of the day.

  4. Silva on his future, Wilson and Bournemouthpublished at 15:42 BST 11 April

    Josh Lobley
    BBC Sport journalist

Fulham boss Marco Silva has been speaking to the media before Monday's Premier League game against Bournemouth (kick-off 20:00 BST).

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

    • Silva provided a fitness update before Monday's match: "The only difference is that Harry Wilson has been involved with training which is very good. He is reacting really well."

    • On the Cherries: "They are competitors. Games against them have always been tight, competitive and open games with goals. We know that they are on a difficult run of results and they want to react from it."

    • More on what to expect from Andoni Iraola's side: "They are very physical with man-on-man marking and they make it difficult for teams. They have three players in the attack who are always a threat - it doesn't matter who starts."

    • Silva was asked about his future at Craven Cottage: "I cannot talk about another season before we finish this season - I have a contract with this club and we are planning the next season. My full ambition is the game against Bournemouth and the other games we have to play."

    • On his side's impressive goalscoring record: "Everybody recognises our philosophy to play football in the best way. It's clear what we want - it doesn't matter who it is against, we want to be there from the first minute to the last."

    • On last week's impressive victory against Liverpool: "Yes it was against Liverpool, but the most important thing for us was the way we bounced back after five tough days for us. We wanted to give something back to the fans."

  7. How did Silva and Slot behave in the technical area this weekend?published at 08:00 BST 9 April

    Emma Smith
    BBC Sport journalist

A graphic showing where both managers stood during the Fulham v Liverpool match. Both managers spent the majority of their time patrolling the front of their technical areas.

Both managers generally stood alone at the edge of their technical areas, and were the ones to issue instructions to their players.

Marco Silva was not shy of expressing his views to the officials - he flew into a rage at Fulham not being awarded an early penalty, while referee Chris Kavanagh had to come over for a word after Silva felt Rodrigo Muniz was fouled.

Silva would occasionally sit down and speak to coaches, but he was usually found pacing the length of his technical area shouting instructions to players.

Arne Slot also stood throughout most of the game, although as more of a watching brief; he would turn to coaches to express thoughts after key moments.

His longest period sitting down came after Liverpool went 3-1 behind, when he looked furious and exasperated. After all five goals, Slot spoke to various players in his team - such as Curtis Jones, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota - to issue instructions.

If football is about moments, then we are having one of our best-ever seasons.

Before this campaign, our return to the Premier League was characterised by our ability to beat the teams beneath us to prop us up in the table. It worked well - we finished 10th and 13th.

But we watched with envy as other clubs pulled off scalp after scalp against the top sides. We could not seem to get the job done against the big boys.

Yet it is these victories that stick in the memory. I still remember narrow wins over Liverpool and Chelsea from the 2005-06 season like they were yesterday, not two decades ago.

Our win against the champions-elect at Craven Cottage on Sunday was the latest against the traditional, if a little outdated, top six. We have beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Manchester United at Old Trafford, and we have picked up wins against Newcastle United and Tottenham for good measure.

Our newfound ability to beat the sides above us is crucial as we enter the final seven games of the season. Of those remaining games, three of them are against sides currently sitting higher than us in the league table.

What that means for us depends on your outlook. A pessimist would say it is the hardest run-in of the "smaller" clubs vying for a place in Europe next term.

I, an optimist, believe it means we can have the biggest impact on the race for continental football - and it puts us in the driving seat.

We are just five points off our record total, and two wins away from equalling the most we have racked up in one campaign. We will need to beat both of those to finish in the top eight.

Fulham jostling once again with Europe's elite? What a moment that would be.

Alex Iwobi stat graphic showing his 30 goals and 34 assists in the Premier League

Alex Iwobi became the first Nigerian to score 30 or more goals and make more than 30 assists in the Premier League when Fulham beat league leaders Liverpool 3-2 on Sunday.

Since his Premier League debut in 2015 for Arsenal in a 3-0 win over Swansea, Iwobi has 284 appearances and also played for Everton before making the move to Craven Cottage in September 2023.

We asked for your thoughts after Sunday's Premier League game between Fulham and Liverpool.

Here are some of your comments:

    Fulham fans

Bill: Super performance and a great bounceback from the Crystal Palace game. First half was stunning and and we were pretty much untouchable. Showed great character in second half to hold the lead and finally win. Four points out of six against the best in the land.

Richard: Big win for Fulham on the back of a fine first half. Hanging on at the end but you need some luck against the top teams who are not invincible. Calvin Bassey, Sander Berge and Rodrigo Muniz excellent for Fulham. Europe still on.

Nick: Played outstandingly. Bassey came back with force, Ryan Sessegnon showed he can make an impact and Muniz completely fooled the Liverpool defence.

    Liverpool fans

Phil: Liverpool looked like they didn't want to win the game until Luis Diaz and Conor Bradley came on. So many back passes. Need a bit of heavy metal football back in our game.

Steve: No panic but what a lacklustre display. A masterclass in giving the ball away. We seem to excel in giving ourselves a second half challenge, which we failed at on this occasion although at least upped our game. Taking nothing away from Fulham who played really well, but I would expect to take something out of that game.

Richard: It's clearly been a long season - the players look knackered! But Arne Slot has a lot of work to do during the summer. There are players that I think need to leave and players that need to be brought in. We lost that game today in the first half. You can't expect to win a game when you concede three goals in 15 minutes. The entire back four were at fault for goals today. I think most of those players will be glad when this season is over.

  11. 'The most frustrated I'd seen Van Dijk'published at 08:48 BST 7 April

Muniz scores against Virgil van DijkImage source, Getty Images

Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison says Fulham forward Rodrigo Muinz "was a nuisance" and caused Liverpool centre-back's Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate "all kinds of problems."

Out of possession, Fulham hassled the Reds, pressing from the front with Muniz and cutting off the passing line and preventing the visitors from playing through them.

Having worked so hard to get the ball, they had no desire to give it away cheaply.

"Fulham were outstanding and the atmosphere was incredible," said Morrison on BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast. "They needed to bounce back after the defeat by Crystal Place the week before [in the FA Cup quarter-final] and to a man, they were fantastic.

"Calvin Bassey and Antonee Robinson did not give Mohamed Salah a kick. Bassey was aggressive, he got forward and the midfield were strong.

"Rodrigo Muniz caused Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate all kinds of problems and his goal was fantastic. He was a nuisance and it was the most frustrated I'd seen Van Dijk.

"Usually he is cool, calm and collected but he was kicking the ball out and shouting at the team-mates. Muniz got right under their skin.

"Full credit to Fulham because they gave Liverpool no time on the ball and were really in their faces. Liverpool made the mistakes and Fulham punished them. "

  12. Memorable win sets Fulham up for exciting season finalepublished at 18:52 BST 6 April

A memorable Fulham win secured on the back of a superb first-half performance.

When Alexis Mac Allister put Liverpool in front, many would have expected Arne Slot's side to push on and take another step towards the Premier League title.

Instead, Fulham rallied and three goals in 13 minutes go them a thoroughly-deserved two-goal lead at the break.

Even at 0-0 the were the better side and had a big chance to go in front when Andreas Pereira robbed Ibrahima Konate of possession inside the Liverpool penalty area.

That chance went begging but it was a prime example of the intensity of Fulham's pressing causing the visitors problems.

They won the ball back in Liverpool territory on numerous occasions and used it smartly once they had it.

Slot highlighted Liverpool errors for all three goals but Fulham were there to capitalise before standing firm in the second half.

With seven games remaining, Marco Silva's side are just four points off fifth, which is highly likely to be good enough for Champions League qualification.

It remains an long shot but, on the back of such an impressive win over the likely champions, why not aim high?

  13. 'We were clearly the best team on the pitch'published at 16:51 BST 6 April

    Marco SilvaImage source, Getty Images

Fulham boss Marco Silva has been speaking to BBC Match of the Day about the win: "It was a great, great performance from us - a big one [result]. It's not just because it is Liverpool, but because we needed to bounce back after the last two games.

"Our first half was very, very good. We played at a very high level. We showed great organisation and commitment. We were clearly the best team on the pitch in the first half.

"In the second half, there was a good reaction from Liverpool, which we expected, and our energy went down a little bit which was to be expected because it was so high in the first half. Overall though, we deserved the three points."

On Rodrigo Muniz's goal: "He is a proper quality striker. He is still very young but he is growing so quick. There are still many things to improve, but he is very high quality for a number nine."

On Calvin Bassey: "Calvin has all the skills to be a top central defender. He ticks all the boxes to be a top, top player. Now he has to be more consistent."

On chasing a place in Europe: "The aim was to be in the top half of the table at this stage of the season. We got three points. I want everybody to be really grounded."

Fulham have won back-to-back Premier League home games for the first time this season, having last done so in March 2024 (v Brighton and Tottenham).

Rodrigo Muniz became only the second Fulham player to score home and away to Liverpool in the same Premier League season, after Collins John in 2005-06.

  15. Sutton's predictions: Fulham v Liverpool published at 11:14 BST 6 April

    Sutton's predictions graphic

Fulham gave Liverpool a real test when they drew at Anfield earlier in the season.

Yes, Arne Slot's side had Andy Robertson sent off early on, but they were already a goal down by then. It took a huge effort for them to rescue a point with 10 men, but they have shown that kind of character plenty of times this season - to get something from a game when they have not played well.

Fulham made things difficult for Arsenal on Tuesday and I am expecting them to do the same here because they are very capable on the counter-attack.

They might even give Liverpool another big scare here but, with what is at stake, I still think the leaders will be fully focused and get the job done again, like they did against Everton.

Mohamed Salah against Fulham's Antonee Robinson will be a key battle, and maybe Salah will make the difference in the end. He is certainly due a big performance.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-2

  16. Silva on Tete and Wilson, bouncing back and facing Liverpoolpublished at 16:28 BST 4 April

Fulham boss Marco Silva has been speaking to club media, external before Sunday's Premier League game against Liverpool (kick-off 14:00 BST).

    Here are the key lines:

    • Kenny Tete is in contention to feature on Sunday for the first time since December with Silva confirming it is only "a matter of time" until he is in the matchday squad: "It could be Liverpool, it could be other games - it will be my decision. Soon, we are going to see him involved in the squad list."

    • Forward Harry Wilson will also be back with the team "soon" after doing individual work on the grass: "That's great news in terms of the wide attacking areas of the pitch, where you miss a player of his characteristics, who can help the team."

    • On bouncing back after defeat at Arsenal on Tuesday: "We share the good moments and the good vibes together. When you don't achieve something important, like a football match we want to win, then you have to share the disappointment. But at the same time, we have to work quicker and prepare quicker for the next one - like we have done since the start of the season."

    • On how opponents Liverpool have adapted this season without Jurgen Klopp: "It wasn't just any manager that left them - it was a manager who was there 10 years with a massive, massive impact on almost everything that was built in the football club. Jurgen was a very, very important piece and when the club went in a different direction, the impact of the manager is always going to be important. Slot has made that impact."

    • He added: "They have been really consistent in the Premier League. You don't see them have too many down moments, and when they do, they are always able to react. It's not a coincidence that they have spent most of the time on top of the table. We can all agree, that if nothing very special happens, then they are going to have a celebration at the end of the season."

    • On what he expects from the match: "It's going to be a game that demands us to be close to perfection. From our side, we need to fight really hard for the three points. We are in our own battle too. They want the three points to be closer to the title - we want our three points for our own battle."
