  1. Phillips? Andre? Or is Palhinha 'not replaceable'?published at 12:03 4 July

We asked for your views on how Fulham should replace Joao Palhinha, should the Portugal midfielder complete his move to Bayern Munich.

Here are some of your responses:

Jack: Unfortunately we will be unable to replace him as we have sold him for a fraction of his value. There are no midfielders on the market for less than £50m that are as competent defensively and going forward.

William: He's not replaceable - we will never get anyone capable of doing what he does.

Joe: We should take a chance on Kalvin Phillips in my opinion. His value is low after his spell at West Ham but a permanent home could be what's needed to revitalise his career.

Rob: I would hope the club have already lined up a replacement as they have had a year where we all knew he was going. Unfortunately, we will most probably leave it to the last minute and get someone no one else wants like a Kalvin Phillips.

Tom: Fulham need to buy with an eye on the future this summer as we have one of the oldest squads in the league. We've been linked with Andre from Fluminense in the past and he seems like the obvious replacement. I just hope we don't leave it too long to complete a deal, as we need to hit the ground running with key games early doors.

Fulham's Joao Palhinha is poised to join Bayern Munich for 51m euros (£43m) plus add-ons, bringing the German giants' long pursuit of the Portugal midfielder to an end.

Palhinha, 28, has been pivotal in helping Fulham re-establish themselves in the Premier League since he moved to Craven Cottage in the summer of 2022.

Should his transfer be completed, how do you think the Whites should replace him?

Is there a suitable candidate in the squad already? Or will a new addition be required - and if so, who?

Fulham have unveiled their new home kit for the 2024-25 Premier League season.

The club said its "proud history remains at the heart of this season's design; with a black collar evoking memories of famous kits from yesteryear, and the iconic Cottage Balcony returning to the reverse of the jersey - etched in rubberised detail on the neck".

Details of Fulham's away and third kits for the upcoming season will be released later in the summer.

  5. Which Premier League teams have the most players still at Euro 2024?published at 13:29 28 June

A general view of the UEFA Euro 2024 footballImage source, Getty Images

Managers will always outwardly support their players on the international stage, but you can be sure one or two will privately be hoping for an early exit from Euro 2024 for a few of their star men.

International tournament summers disrupt pre-season for managers.

Various players from different nations return to their clubs at different times, sometimes with injuries, holidays get postponed and rescheduled. As a general rule, the best players are more likely to play for the best nations and therefore go further in international tournaments.

The Euro 2024 final will take place on 14 July. Over half of Premier League clubs already have a pre-season fixture scheduled within 10 days of that.

Of English clubs, unsurprisingly, Premier League champions Manchester City have comfortably the most players in the Euro 2024 knockouts. The best represented Premier League side at the start of the competition have a full line-up of 11 stars still in Germany.

They are followed by the rest of last season's top three - Arsenal and Liverpool - who have eight and seven respectively. Manchester United also have seven while Brentford - aided by their healthy Danish contingent - have six and Crystal Palace five.

Championship play-off winners Southampton's three representatives were all eliminated at the group stage, while fellow newly promoted side Ipswich have not seen their summer impacted at all by players at Euro 2024.

Of the Championship-winning Leicester squad, goalkeeper Mads Hermansen and defenders Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard remain in Germany - as does Turkey's Yunus Akgun, who spent last season on loan with the Foxes.

This data was provided by Opta and counts the clubs where players finished at the end of the 2023-24 season.

  6. Target exciting wingers? Your suggestions for Euros recruitmentpublished at 16:48 27 June

We asked for your views on which Euros player would be a good fit for Fulham.

Here are a few of your suggestions:

Luke: Euro 2024 has been a tournament for exciting wingers, and with a massive upheaval in the wide areas, Fulham could do with some new ones. I particularly liked Dan Ndoye from Switzerland and Akturkoglu from Turkey. Also, anyone from Austria (particularly Seiwald).

Gordon: We are always involved in gossip that never really happens. If it's money that is the issue then someone like Scott McKenna might be a good option. He has no club and handled himself quite well for Scotland in the Euros. If we have the money then we could look at Openda or Sesko.

Kit: I think Marcel Sabitzer would be a perfect replacement for Andreas Pereira if he departs this summer.

David: If Joao Palhinha is allowed to leave, I suggest looking to Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to replace him. He's the Palhinha type of player.

  8. Willian weighs up Fulham exitpublished at 17:47 24 June

Fulham winger Willian is weighing up his options to leave Craven Cottage this summer.

The 35-year-old's contract expires next week and he has opted against signing a further one-year contract extension to talk to other clubs.

There is a mutual understanding between both parties as Willian looks to make the most from the tail end of his career, while Fulham deem an offer on similar terms as appropriate.

Willian similarly saw his contract expire last summer while listening to offers from Nottingham Forest and clubs in Saudi Arabia before finally committing to Fulham in mid-July after pre-season had already begun.

The situation is aided by a positive relationship between manager Marco Silva and Willian.

But Silva would be keen to sign a replacement for any outgoing players, with versatile wide man Bobby Decordova-Reid also seeing his deal expire next week, amid talks over a two-year extension.

  9. Where will Fulham be after 10 games?published at 11:58 19 June

    Your views banner

The fixtures for the new Premier League season are out and we asked you for your predictions on where Fulham will be after 10 games.

Here is a selection of your comments:

Andy: Not the easiest start - I fear we could be at the bottom of the table on the first Saturday morning. Looking further down the line, I can picture us sitting in the top half, maybe losing to both the Manchester clubs, Newcastle and maybe Aston Villa. Ipswich and Nottingham Forest should be nailed-on wins and then maybe wins at Everton and West Ham. Mid-table.

Alex: I can see us giving Manchester United a run for their money again. I think 95% of our first 10 games we should look very strong. This will only follow if we sign suitable players that can play to the intensity of the Premier League, because as it stands the majority of our squad is either past 30 or thereabouts. I hope we give the first 10 a hard time.

Mike: Looking at the first 10, hopefully out first loss will be at Manchester City. I'm hoping for a draw away at Manchester United, then wins against Leicester and Ipswich, then three draws against West Ham, Newcastle and Forest. Lose at City, draws with Villa and Everton, then win against Brentford.

John: All depends on how we do in the market. We need to bolster the side in all departments. Would be great to have some new players earlier rather than waiting as we usually do to the last minute.

Fulham will get their 2024-25 season under way against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Friday, 16 August.

Fulham have only lost their opening Premier League match in two of their past nine seasons at this level (W4 D3). They have also kept six clean sheets across these nine games.

Marco Silva's team will also be hoping to create a little bit of club history as, following their league victory at Old Trafford last season, Fulham are looking to win consecutive away league visits to the Red Devils for the first time.

Opta graph analysing each team's last ten matches

According to Opta, Manchester City have the easiest final 10 fixtures of the season.

Aftrer the 15 March, they will only face three teams that finished in the top half of last season's table - Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Aston Villa.

West Ham have the next easiest run-in, again only facing three top-half teams in their final 10 games - Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United.

At the other end of the spectrum, Fulham have the toughest run-in, with six of their final 10 games coming against sides who qualified for Europe last season.

What should you look out for?

By chief football news reporter Simon Stone

    Matches around European games

This will be even more keenly assessed than usual given the four clubs in the Champions League and two in the Europa League will have eight first-phase games rather than six. Long trips before or after European games do not go down well with managers.

    Matches around internationals

There are international breaks in September, October, November and March. In Europe, the first three of those are for Nations League fixtures. World Cup qualifiers in Europe start in March 2025, though in South America and Asia they are being played in all four windows.

England managers tend not to be keen on blockbuster league matches immediately before a break and club bosses are equally unhappy at having to play key matches after them when so many players get back on Thursday or Friday.

    Festive fixtures

To allow for a mid-August start, there will not be a winter break this season. The Premier League has assured clubs they will not be asked to play twice in less than 60 hours at any point over Christmas and New Year. That rules out any club playing on 26 December also having a game on 28 December. There will be no Christmas Eve fixture in the 2024-25 season.

As the FA Cup third round has been moved from its traditional home on the first weekend of January to the second, it does seem there will be four rounds of fixtures over the festive period - starting on 21 December and ending on 5 January.

    New managers

Four Premier League clubs already have new managers - Fabian Hurzeler (Brighton), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea), Arne Slot (Liverpool) and Julen Lopetegui (West Ham) - with a fifth to come at Leicester. So that's a new era beginning at 25% of clubs before a ball has been kicked. Russell Martin will take charge of a top-flight game for the first time after Southampton's promotion.

  17. Fulham reject second Bayern bid for Palhinhapublished at 15:06 14 June

Fulham have rejected a second bid from Bayern Munich for Joao Palhinha.

The Cottagers have knocked back two offers from Bayern this week as the German giants rekindle their long-standing interest in the midfielder.

Personal terms are not expected to be a problem if a deal can be struck between the clubs.

Bayern have returned for the Portugal international, on duty for his country at Euro 2024, after their initial move for him collapsed last summer, despite Palhinha having a medical.

He was given permission to fly to Germany on the understanding a replacement would have to be signed before the transfer would be approved.

But Fulham were unable to bring in anyone before the transfer deadline and the player had to return to Craven Cottage.

Bayern have come back for the 28-year-old with new boss Vincent Kompany looking to return them to the top of the Bundesliga.

They finished third last season, behind unbeaten champions Bayer Leverkusen and runners-up Stuttgart - a failure to win the first time since 2012.
