With that latest shakedown Max Verstappen has become the leader of this Sao Paulo Grand prix. The stop from McLaren has covered off a threat from the two Mercedes drivers but now Lando Norris has to get a move on and prepare for his battle with the Red Bull of Verstappen.
George Russell comes into the pits for a second stop, taking the medium tyre, and comes out in sixth position. Oliver Bearman goes on the outside of Nico Hulkenberg and his Haas is lifted up into seventh place.
Liam Lawson is up to sixth for Racing Bulls, which is great for the team after Aston Martin drew level on 72 points in the constructors' championship. Lance Stroll, as it stands, would pick up the final points place.
Lando Norris is on for back-to-back wins if he triumphs in Sao Paulo today. The McLaren driver is 7.7seconds clear of Kimi Antonelli, while his team-mate Oscar Piastri asks more questions about strategy on the radio.
Max Verstappen has gained 15 places at Interlagos. The four-time world champion isn't quite close enough to launch an attack on George Russell for third place, but he still quickest on his 10-lap old medium tyres.
Oscar Piastri is a soft runner now and he calls the McLaren hotline to ask what's the plan? The Australian is nine points adrift of Lando Norris in the championship and has Max Verstappen and George Russell to pass before he makes the podium places.

Piastri should not have received a penalty for that. Leclerc left plenty of space for three across, but Antonelli cut across, causing Piastri to lock up to try to avoid him. The gap was there and it was all Antonelli's fault.
