Hello, folks. Instead of having the 'Sunday scaries' to the theme tune of Heartbeat, we get to have that sinking feeling of school/work in the morning to round nine of the Formula 1 championship.

Drivers and team members have been entering the paddock in Montreal today using umbrellas or with coat hoods up. The weather is dry for the moment but the risk of rain for today's grand prix rises to around 80% by 3pm local time.

Lights out in Canada is at 19:00 BST.

Rosanna Tennant, Harry Benjamin, British racing driver and pundit Alex Brundle and BBC F1 correspondent Andrew Benson will be taking us through the action.

Commentary will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC Sounds and at the top of this page using the audio icon.

George Russell was giddy with delight at securing Mercedes' first pole position of the 2024 season during a thrilling qualifying session in Montreal on Saturday.

Russell is sharing the front row with three-time world champion Max Verstappen, who set an identical lap time in the Red Bull, but will start second on the grid, as Russell banked his 1:12.000 first.

Will the two drivers be hard to separate over 70 laps of the Canadian Grand Prix?

However, one thing might scupper them both... rain.
